I have a 2016 GT/PP/PP. I picked up a nail on the inside rear tire on the freeway. Tire just started losing air rapidly while driving. Got it pulled over before it hit 20psi. just sitting it dropped to 4. Pulled out the tire and aired it up. It would only go to about 16psi. Got off the freeway and pulled off. Did it again. Got about another mile and stopped at a gas station to air it to 45. Made it to Les Scwab. They looked at it and couldnt fix it because it was in the sidewall. Aired it to 50psi and went to work. After work I trailed it home. I have since plugged it as the tire was only a month old. Found out no road hazzard for this tire by Big O. I will be traveling to Canada here in September and I am looking for a spare tire/wheel. Yes I will be putting on a new tire before I go.
What are people using for spare tires for the PP cars? Will a rear PP rim fir the front? Does the front fit the rear? I would like to have only 1 spare to carry. I can put the rear tire size on a front wheel, if it will fit the rear. Ideas are welcome.

Check the aussie subforum mate. They came up with a simmons wheel for our long distance uninhabited journeys. You should be able to get this in the states for a lot cheaper as well. Fits front and back but sits a cm above the wheel well.
cheers

i am using a deflated s197 brembo wheel. unfortunately it raises the trunk floor height.

go check the gt350 forums. i remember someone figuring out something that works from tire rack that dosen't take up as much space.

I put the Equus 19" spare on my 2018 PP1 car, BUT it has to be bored out to 70.66mm/2.782" to fit the Mustang hub. It clears the Brembo brakes in the front too! I got the spare on eBay for $175.00.

I have the premium 20" aluminum wheels. Car is in FL and I'm in MD for a while, so I can look at it right now.
Is this package staggered, the window sticker doesn't say one way or the other. And do I have any other option other than buying a 5th 20" wheel?
Not a fan of the sealant route for a temp flat fix.

I have gotten 1 flat in 20 years of driving so I don't mind that my mustang doesn't have a spare tire, I figure with those kind of odds I'll just pay to have it towed rather than get worse fuel economy by carrying the spare, plus a jack and lug nut wrench which are also pretty heavy.

I heard the fix-a-flat tire inflator they give you with the car will ruin the TPMS sensors, so if I get a flat I'll call roadside assistance rather than use it.

On my motorcycle I carry a tire puncture repair kit (like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/TIRE-REPAIR-KIT/22949309 ) does anyone know whether those can be used safely on a car? If so, they seem like a much better option than the sealant as they wouldn't ruin the TPMS.
