Personally I'd have preferred if they gave the car 4s's and used the CUP2 money to put towards including a rear diff cooler.
I agree it makes more sense to have 4S tires on the car rather than Cup 2s. But with the 4S it would have been slower. Someone prioritized the magazine numbers over actual functionality.

How about Cup2s AND coolers and only $500 more? I'd be happy with that lol

Yeah Ford really missed the mark by a mile by not including the rear-diff cooler in the PP2. The clutch on the SS bites, very stiff and difficult to modulate since the engagement zone is very narrow. The trans on the SS is also very annoying as it tries to force you to 1-4 except in certain circumstances. Cup2 tires on a street car is just dumb and pure marketing nonsense. You can't get them up to proper temp on the street.

The Mustang's Magneride is not nearly as well tuned as the SS. At a fraction of the cost of a Shelby the Camaro really is a good deal and easily up to track duty off the show room floor.

I like these guys and it is a good video. They tell you basically what everyone already knows. 1LE is a track ready car and PP2 is not. 1LE is like driving in a coffin and the PP2 is great for a daily other than the SC2 tires.

If they wanted to do a track ready comparison it really should have been a GT350.
I hope they do not forget to mention the cost of both cars. The SS 1LE is the best bang for the buck when it comes to an American made track car.

Its the same old convo we've been having one is a street performance car, and one is a track car, they don't compare straight across like they try to do here. The 1LE is going to trounce if not for the simple fact in 2 laps the Stang with overnite and be in limp mode, at that point everything else is a wash.

Dollar for dollar the SS 1LE is without question the best value for an American made track car. It starts at $43,495 MSRP which you can negotiate. It needs no coolers opposed the GT PP2 which starts at $43,450 MSRP. The GT350 starts at $59,140 MSRP which dealers want to add an ADM.

I bought one
Drove one and loved the driving experience, didn't want to deal with it on a daily basis though. In many ways, I would love it!

Camaro is a nice car, but has the worst visibility from inside. Until that is changed totally, I'd never buy it.

They just posted a track review, using the same Cup 2 tires for both of them. Very fair comparison. Loved the results!
