Things I wish my S550 did

They're not as annoying as some people think. I've had them for a long time, on four different cars. You don't even see them unless you intentionally focus on them.
The only time you do notice them (if you know what to look for) is at night, as the headlights of the oncoming cars have a sort of slightly starry (for lack of a better word) shape. But I wouldn't call that annoying. It's just a bit different, neither better nor worse. I bet that if you drove my car and I didn't tell you about it you wouldn't even notice it.
The drawback is that the windscreen is more expensive when you need to replace it. But after all, that's what insurance is for, isn't it?
I'm not too upset about it; I'm sure I can easily learn to live without it. But it is, nevertheless, one thing I wish my Mustang had.

I won't have remote start, because of the manual transmission.

Before I got the Kuga for my wife, her previous car didn't have a heated windscreen, and I had great success with a special windscreen cover, which I put on the windscreen in the evening and prevented the formation of ice during the night. It used to work very well. I'll probably use it with the Mustang as well.

I'm guessing this would be like the heated steering wheel to me, never had one until the Mustang. I will do my best to get a heated steering wheel on every car from now on (vintage/racing cars excluded). I bet if the Mustang came with a heated windshield I'd dig it. I personally have never seen a car with one.

Definitely wish it had a bigger tank. I'm one of those Supercharged E85 guys living in rural Oklahoma lol. I have to limit my drive due to available stations. I did baby the car almost 250 miles though and got 18mph. I had less than an 1/8th of a tank remaining, but hey, I made it.

Wish mine was lighter too. 4140 with me in it.

Not going to be too picky though. This car is the most fun I've had in a long time.

I thought all QuikTrips sold E85 in Oklahoma. LOL

I wish my seat setting would work all the time when I get into it. Half the time, I have to push the button to get my correct setting.

Eh, I've heard they're annoying to look through. Remote start + defroster is a much better solution. You can turn off the defroster, you can't turn off a mesh of wires that toes the line of obscuring your vision.

I had a jaguar S type that had a heater windshield, (it was my grandfathers, and was handed down to me when he passed) and it is distracting and annoying to look through. Maybe I was just more sensitive to it than most people, but my eyes would continually try to focus on the tiny wires, and then back to the road. I sold that car because of it.

Maybe because you knew they were there you subconsciously felt the urge to focus on them. I never had this impulse, neither did my wife or any of my friends or acquaintances who've ever had a Ford equipped with this option. I guess it's a personal thing. Maybe if you had tried to fight this urge a bit you would have managed to train yourself to ignore them after a while. Or maybe not. I don't know. All I know is I love this thing and I'm going to miss it.

I have to guess you're not Olde Englishe. Otherwise you'd have developed some skills a seeing through and ignoring distracting stuff in front of your eyes.

More like this. I keep to myself and I look after my flock. As for tiny wires in the windshield, I say no. If you are driving your Mustang in situation that needs ice removed from the windshield, you need a second car. These are not all-weather vehicles.

I can’t comment on the jag, but the heated screen in my ford (cosworth) was ace.

Forget snow and ice, even on a light internal mist it clears the screen virtually instantly - very useful, even in autumn / spring before / after the frost and ice

Completely different characteristics and performance to a heated rear, enough for me to question why the heated rear still exists in the format we are familiar with ?

Perhaps Ford missed a trick, it would be great for quickly clearing the condensation in a leaky mustang ...

All excellent options, #4 is an easy DIY.

I see so many cars that don't even need it with the front camera and sensors these days. There are front cameras available online but I've yet to read a review or find out if is compatible with the radar.

I'd love 360 overhead too as it's impossible to tell where the parking lines are in this car.

#4 is a hundred dollar quick fix. #5 is easy enough if you scan e-bay for take outside as some did/do come with.
#7, just order one for one of the models that has 2 - not expensive or hard to swap. #9 I don't notice a lack, even with the top down but I'm sure there's an aftermarket one or one that could be repurposed from a different ford.


What I wish mine did/had.
One touch up/down for the convertible top.
One touch up/down for the rear windows.
A behind the seats windscreen.
A courtesy wipe when the wipers are in intermittent and you lift your foot off the brake.
Those are the ones that bug me the most. Two I can fix, two I cannot.
