For some reason, my eye is pulled right to the mirror. It's just hanging off the car so it looks strange to me. Maybe because Mustangs have had integrated mirrors for so long.

Ah, but the original is actually a model, not a photoshop rendering. Thanks for trying though :)

I'm really diggin' these concept 'shops here, guys. That jade color looks killer on the S550.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the '71-73 Machs, I do think the native hood lines lend themselves well to the NASA hood. However, I think that Ford could better balance out the retro/futuristic equation by making those NASA intake vents into heat extractors. The current trend seems to be more concerned with getting air out of the engine bay rather than in it.

I was looking at pictures of the Challenger Hellcat and the hood looks like a mix of old retro and new school. The hood vents that flank the big ram air intake echo similarly shaped air intakes seen on '70-71 Challenger hoods.

The S550 is a really great looking car that can be taken in any direction, from serious track car to retro-inspired hot rod, so long as you don't go overboard with the retro. As much as I love shaker hoods, I don't think it'd look right on the new car. At least, not as a straight up retro kit like seen on the '03-04 Machs. The New Edge Mustangs were significantly narrower than the 2015, so having the same size shaker hood scoop perched on top of that super wide hood wouldn't look right.

That, and shaker hoods don't really add much in terms of performance.

But, what if they utilized a gimmick similar to what was available from Saleen for the 4.6? They called it the Saleen Super Shaker, and it was a shaker hood scoop mounted directed onto a supercharger. I think if you're going to include some sort of shaker hood system onto the new car, it should be something along those lines.

A factory supercharged 5.0 in a super sexy new body that straddles the line between retro and ultra modern? What better name for such a package than the audacious Mach 1 moniker? Throw in some bigger brakes and a Boss-type adjustable suspension and I simply won't be able to resist. Offer it in some wild colors that would make the Mopar boys blush while you're at it. We're basically reliving 1970 all over again, so let's go all out.

I always loved this render! It would be fairly easy to pull this look off on a vanilla GT, too:
-Dark grey hood extractors
-Dark grey wing mirror caps
-Dark grey lower intake divider, leaving the frontal surface body color (could be done with plastidip)
-Wedge some kind of light units up in that plastic void outside of the grille fangs
-Modified front bumper with intake slot

Really late to the party on this, but I think that's the best looking rendition of the new Mustang I have seen, real or imagined. Perfect balance of brute force and subtlety, and I just love the colour combo they've hit on. I'd order that in a heartbeat..

Awesome work on the photo shops. Can not wait to see a MACH I LE come to us. If they build it, I will come and buy it...

Yeah... I was thinking about getting a GT early next year. I'm going to wait it out and see if a Mach 1 will be coming back for hopefully at the latest 2017 MY.

I miss my old 04 Mach 1!
