Hi guys,

So I finally surpassed 1000 miles on my 2021 GT PP. Loving the car! However, I purchased and installed the Steeda clutch spring and perch kit and I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer. First supposedly the 2021 Mustangs are programmed from the factory to allow no lift shifting, but its hard to find anything that states that? Now apparently there can be issues with the Steeda spring and the no lift shift? And finally there is a little bit of play at the top of the pedal, with the stock spring it was stiff at the top, with the Steeda spring I can move it just ever so slightly in and out with my finger easily until I meet resistance. Not sure if this is normal or not. I did read somewhere on here about guys stretching the Steeda spring from 2.5 inches to 3.25 inches, but I'd love to know how because its a pretty tough steel spring.

To sum up my questions...
- Does my 21 GT PP have no lift shift?
- Does the Steeda spring cause issues with the no lift shift if my car has it?
- Is the pedal play normal?
- Should I try stretching the spring and if so how?

Thanks in advance, also I did the Steeda upper and lower clutch lines and it definitely gives the clutch pedal a better feel.

This from the Mach 1 supplement:
No Lift Shift
This feature provides you with the ability
to keep the accelerator pedal firmly
pressed down during high engine speed,
wide open throttle accelerations. During
wide open throttle gear shifts, the engine
controller prevents the engine speed from
flaring with the clutch disengaged during
a rapid upshift. This allows reduced
manual transmission upshift time, resulting
in quicker acceleration and smoother no
lift shifts.

That might be referring the the Ford Performance tunes that you could get though. I also read on CJ Pony that it has it but they word to where it would almost seem that its only in Ecoboost models?

Gotcha, so it seems my car should have the feature. I wonder if it works in all modes or just drag mode or something?

My 2019 Bullitt has a Steeda clutch spring and there is also the pedal play at the top (can move about 1/4” or so very easily with my hand), that you’re referring to. I‘m thinking it’s normal with the Steeda spring.

Interesting you think Ford would make this more clear.

I was just going to chime in that I didn't think it worked in the GT.

Yep, the play in the top of the pedal is normal for the steeda spring. It's a bit shorter than the stock one. Someone else on here said that if you stretch it out a bit it fixes that.

Yeah I read that as well, about stretching it. Lol but try pulling on that spring, there's no way. Idk how else to stretch it.

No, only the Mach 1 has it.
Supposedly you can get the "no lift shift" in the Ford Performance Tune for 2018+ models. I have not personally had a chance to try this yet.

Even if the tune could keep the engine from overrevving, I still wouldn't try it with an MT-82. I'm not sure its synchros are built to withstand that kind of abuse.

I wonder if Lund can enable the NLS in their tunes?
