What filter system are you using? I have heard of this before, sounds like a great idea! Only question is cost, but definitely cheaper than loosing money on trading a car...another member suggested on using Di water in 1 gallon jags you can buy cheap, and rinsing car after a wash.

I actually built my own system, which is the same as the CR Spotless D-120 unit for a much lower cost. I sourced my own "Big Blue" 4X20" filter housing and bought a replacement resin cartridge that goes into the D-120 and added a TDS meter for roughly $100.00 less than buying a premade unit.

I don't have a cheap source for the filter housing, I got mine for cheap off of Ebay that was new old stock, but you need a 4.5X20 filter housing. CR Spotless replacement resin cartridge for the D-120 unit. The links below are just examples. You'll have to do a bit of research to find the cheapest one out there. You can also add a TDS meter to monitor resin effectiveness. All you need to do is source your filter housing and get PVC fittings to go from NPT threads to garden hose threads.

This has to be used in a low flow system such as a pressure washer. The recommended flow rate is 2.5 gpm max, you can't just hook it to a garden hose, unless you use a flow restrictor.I use mine only to do a final rinse to prolong the life of the resin. I use water out of my water softener to first blast all of the hard crap off, wash if needed, then rinse with soft water, then final rinse with de-ionized water.

It's always been OK to drive a dirty black car. The only necessary change to enhance your comfort in doing so is to give yourself permission to ignore—or at least moderate—the (anal) compulsion to have it super clean.

Four of my six Mustangs have been black, a very-much-preferred color. I eventually settled on a sort of middle course with regard to maintaining cleanliness: very conscientious dusting after every outing, an occasional wash at my leisure and convenience, or for special occasions.

If you're seriously considering a whole-car change to get out from under the cleaning "duties", you'll need to go very, very pale: white, silver, yellow; just about everything else looks dirty when it's dirty. Of course you could change cars to a lighter color and still have the compulsion to clean, clean, clean. The real change has to be in you.

Black is a 'Labor of Love' to own and maintain.

Used to, my Black '83 Toyota 4x4 pick up got washed nearly every day.
I couldn't stand it being dirty.
My '94 Ranger Splash; Black of course, went thru the same ritual.
My Black '98 Chevy ZR2 S-10 goes through it now (keeping it for the Grandson).

This Mustang, if I had went to Charlotte, NC when I bought, it would have been Black.
I don't drive this Blue enough to get it dirty.
I'm 65 though. Would like a Black, 6 speed manual. But I don't need another new Hot Rod car...............

I bought that Meguair Ceramic spray wax but never put it on... I'll give that a go asap and see if it helps... Suppose to be 80º here tomorrow

They just came out with a liquid version. Much easier to apply and way better. The ceramic detailer is also really good.

Ya are gonna laugh, but during pollen season I use pledge in blue can.

I’ve used it for years on motorcycles and co. vehicles with no ill affect. Also works amazing keeping the rear panel clean and on the plastic head lights.

I actually went from a black 2018 to a magnetic 2019. I do love the magnetic color but it also takes some upkeep. It shows less immediately than black but it still requires lots of time. I have yet to ceramic coat it but I’m planning on it.

When the weather gets warmer, I hope to ceramic coat my magnet grey. Hopefully that will make it easier to clean.
I had a 13 in ingot silver, and it seemed like it would get dirty overnight. I had to wash it almost every time I drove it. I actually don't think the magnet grey will be as hard to keep clean. I drove it Sunday, and it hadn't been washed in about 3 or 4 weeks, and it still looked reasonably clean.

Here's something to consider, my ingot silver had a black interior, and the glass was the first thing I noticed that was dirty, then I noticed the hood. Since the magnet grey has a black interior, I don't actually notice the glass being dirty until I get in the car. From the outside the car looks clean.

My wife's Rogue is black. I hate cleaning it. I have to wash it first thing in the morning or early evening, as if it sits for even a moment in sunlight, you can't wash it without everything drying on it instantly. My car is a pain, too, the only saving grace is being a convertible, I don't wash the top every wash, so the area being washed isn't too bad. I usually wash it and then pull it back in the garage to dry it. Mine's a year round daily, so I've gotten used to driving it dirty, sometimes in the winter it goes for weeks without being washed and resembles a low, rolling pile of salt.
