Like you I'm on the fence right now. I bought the extended warranty so that makes me lean towards keeping the warranty in tack. But I am putting the Ford performance tune on it.
What I like to call the ford bullitt tune. Now I realize this could squash my extended warranty but I doubt ford wants to prove their parts caused the failure. My dealer told me that any other type of aftermarket tune would void the warranty but they said there not in the business of screwing their customers so they said if you return it to the stock tune there not going to be looking to cause problems again if it's a major failure and a ford rep gets involved that changes everything. So I guess for now I'm going with the ford tune and when my 36000 miles rolls around I may just put a procharger stage 2 kit on it not to make it a track car just to make it fun. I've already done wheels, tires and a bunch of steeda suspension parts. The extended warranty will still be good on all but the drivetrain. I still have more steeda parts to get but there's time for that. Good luck in whatever you decide to do and enjoy your car.
Isn’t the power train warranty 60k miles?

Been tuned since 5,000 miles. Going on 18,700 miles now. Yes, tune it.

Another part of my concern is that I keep hearing that a 93 tune isn’t really worth it, that’s why I was debating on a flex tune. However, there is no E85 near me (closest place is 45 minutes away). So if I did run E85, it would be on a very rare occasion.

I tuned my 18 GT immediately after driving home from dealership new. 12k miles in 2.5 years. The gen3 loves the timing on E85. Big pick up in low mid torque.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think you can get just a Flex tune without first having gotten a 93 tune. What I did was pay for 93, Flex and E85R tune. Lund only sent my 93 tune first and requested data logs. Once they confirmed that everything looked good in the logs, they sent my Flex and E85R tunes and requested a WOT data log for Flex and for the E85R tunes, before giving me the all clear.

Yes, most tuners start with 91-93 file and build the E tune off that.

If you want your car to be stronger then yes . e-85 does wonders on gen-3 motors and the 10 speed auto’s .. go for it

A pump gas tune on the 2018+ GT is worth about 10-12 rwhp. The car likely already makes over 400 rwhp stock, hardly worth it if you're concerned about warranty. I would NOT tune if it's just for pump gas if I were you.

Hi all Mustang Magic installed my ford performance tune this morning. I have to say I think I can feel a difference the car seems to shift better and seems to have a bit more power. The only down side I can see 1 is that my IAT's have gone up with the ford performance air box when I'm in traffic but as soon as I get rolling they go right back down. Everything else seems to be improved. But it's not a night and day difference just a bit more power across the board and better shifting. I do not get that long lag between 1st and 2nd gear if I give just a little more gas. I'm pretty happy so far. But this is just my first impression driving it home from the shop. I'll have to take it out for a decent ride to find out more. I also want to do a couple of 0-60 runs to see if I pick any time there but I doubt I will cause its 45 degrees out and I have nitto nt05's so I'll probably have significant wheel spin. I'll keep you posted on how I think this is working out. But so far so good.

Update. I went with the tune. On the E85 tune & dropped 3/10 and gained 2.63 mph with a similar 60’. I had a launch a lot easier to try not to blow the stock tire off. I think with a good tire I might be able to drop .2-.3 more in the 1/4.

Nice. What were the DAs for the two runs? You need the density altitude of each run to make an apples to apples comparison.

The before (12.01) run was -117’, the after (11.72) was 947’. Also worth noting is the 11.72 was with a 10-12mph headwind. The 12.01 was a calm day.

These cars love e. Get that 60 down with a better tire and you're on your way. Check out the Nitto 555rii it's a very streetable drag radial that can hook power but still handle dd and even rain. If you're getting wheel hop the tire will help that as well but BMR CB005 will all but kill it.

That’s what I plan to go with next when my Michelin’s wear out. I’m hoping to go 11.4-.5 with a good DA once I do. Thanks!

Nice, so you really picked up almost 4 mph w/ the E85 tune apples to apples. I'd say that's a good gain.

The DA calculator is off for your stock 12.0 run. A negative DA that you ran in will yield a slightly higher e.t. and slightly slower trap speed corrected to 0' DA. It looks like the calculator treated it as +117' instead of -117'. Anyway, nice gains!
