It only took me about 500 miles to actually go and get a programmer for my '15 GT PP M6, and it was a noteable increase. Ended up going from 386whp 356wtq to 403whp 369wtq. Picked up over 20whp in the middle as well. It really perked the car up. I just recently installed my Magnaflow Competition Cat-back and im curious if I should bother getting the thing tuned again if it would at all need it. Using the SCT X4 programmer.

No, a catback exhaust does not require a new tune

No you do not need a tune for a cat back exhaust as mentioned. While you said what kind of tuning device you are using, you never mentioned who actually wrote the tune.

Nope, but if you change out that stock air box or add headers (mainly catless systems) then you should get another tune.

As others mentioned a catback doesn't require a tune update. However if you're using the canned file from SCT you would definitely benefit by going with a custom tune from Lund Racing.

We picked up peak-to-peak gains of 26.7 horsepower and 24.93 lb-ft of torque. That was a while ago as well. The tunes have since evolved and should yield slightly higher gains now.

Give us a call if you have any questions and we'll be glad to assist you.

Thanks, Jared
