LUND TUNE shipped! What should I know!?

They both have pros and cons. If you're moving, open air elements are fine. They recover temps faster too.

Closed boxes don't get as hot but recover a bit slower. I've had both. I'm giving the 18 JLT a shot because I want to run a flex fuel tune and the Steeda closed lid won't let me.

The Steeda closed CAI box will too let you, I'm ordering one, discussed it with them and they said no problem, have them ask Alex, he'll back that up.

Interesting... Now that I have both intakes, lol. Brandon is working on my tune currently and I was told otherwise because of the MAF placement being so close to the filter.

Datalogs showed entirely too much maf turbulence and idle variance to properly run flex on that cai. Best guess was maf location. Steeda acknowledged it as well. If Lund found a way to get it to work finally great. I believe it will be the first one on this forum thus far so good news. Wish it would have come up before switching back to stock and selling the Steeda though lol. Though was an early purchase. Considered it beta testing

I asked for a base tune to data log for flex with the Steeda. Just waiting on it to show up. I finished my manifold install. If it doesn't work, I will swap it.

OP Here:

Had the car out yesterday for an hour or two and did some around town driving, a couple back roads, and a loop on the highway to gauge the tune in a few different scenarios. Here's what I found:

1. The car still drives 'like stock' in that it's not jerky and the tune hasn't upset the driveability of the car around town;
2. I didn't launch the car crazy hard because it's still cold out etc. but from a dig there is a noticeable amount of power. It feels 'healthier' if that makes sense;
3. I did some rolling pulls starting in 3rd (10R80) and the thing absolutely flies. This and the pulls I did on the highway were really validators that this Lund Tune (with or without JLT CAI) does make noticeable power gains. The car feels stronger across the entire rev range.

Once the weather warms up I will be able to test what a full launch experience is like and get a better overall idea of how the tune feels but from the time I've had in the car so far I am impressed.

Well now you have spoken to them so why don't you tell us exactly what they said word for word. If you have email or chat with them then post it. Otherwise you're just throwing their name around without any proof.

Did they say we can get yo close to the same power with stock or did they say CAI is not worth the money and won't get you any more power at all?

I believe it, tuner told me the same thing... Unless it's a blown application pretty much waste of money.

I mentioned it another thread with some opposition. Don’t want people wasting money but it’s usually the people that already purchased, which I understand. Tuners don’t want to piss vendors off so they tip toe.

Lund told me the exact same thing in regards to 2018+ engines.
They said the best power is going to be from headers and E85 tune.
