FYI I've blown sound twice in my stock Mach 1. Quiet mode doesn't seem to help/keep the valves closed at WOT. I'll have to try that trick with pulling the fuse in quiet mode.

About that resonator delete...
This weekend in St. Louis I was allegedly blowing 103db
A turbo is a _way_ better muffler than a resonator. Get one of those!

Man I would hazard a guess it's your car. I hit 97 routinely on my bone stock exhaust. 5 more dB from the 5.0 and with an H-pipe instead of resonators certainly seems achievable.
Maybe, but 5 dB is _a lot_. A hyperactive sound meter...and over-eager enforcement...is beyond annoying.

You have to watch out...at Thunderhill the unscruplous will pack the sound meter box with blue shop towels.

'19 and later Ford changed programming so that the driver could still switch modes after pulling the fuse. Since you have an '18, there is a workaround. You can pull that fuse, and change your shocks, steering and advancetrak independently. And that works great until your car decides you have pushed past its limit, and turns them back on for you after the first corner.
Yea I played with that. The AWE is an annoying solution given its $300 entry point, but it works flawlessly at least.

Where at ? NWOR ?

Exactly my thougfht - 5 db is a lot - and I've done a bunch of these events (with technically same meter) and never got a warning - so problem is lack of consistency, not the limit itself.

Beside - it was a CAM challenge and sound steward (not a CAM driver) seemed very happy to nail a bunch of people.

Anyway, I'm whining. Happy with the result, need to drive faster and come up with some front aero. Course was really good (IMO) with >50 mph long sweeper.

KZ I was there in the Red 17 GT with a totally stock exhaust and should have checked sound. Not concerned about being over but it would been a good bench mark. You didn't sound loud to me. Now some of the CAM T cars.....wow.

Is there a calibration standard on the sound meters used for autox sound measurements? If not that is a problem because it gives the driver no recourse.

In SCCA Road Racing they use Spec Racer Ford 3's as the bench mark for sound because they have a regulated power train and exhaust. If normally compliant cars start blowing sound the competitors can protest the readings and use SRF3 measurements to prove a calibration error.

The course was a blast to drive. Cool event

NER uses 90 dB(A) at 75 feet. GT350 is too loud stock. Yay.

Edit: the easiest solution seems to be Frankenstein downturns. The uglier the better.

I remember you - one with good looking wheels. Sorry, if I knew, would have said hi.

Technically it's 100db at 50ft (if I remember correctly) meter itself is whatever they use - it has consistently been an issue with inconsistency (lol) and I think SCCA wants to create a committee to work this out (but probably nobody wants to be in it).

I'd probably have something ready if I knew I could be in a danger of exceeding the limit, probably would have welded back in stock resonator.

Course was great. Whoever designed it, great great job.

Looks like I need to add a couple of splitter protectors to the outside edges. Good thing I already ordered some up today.

You need some front spring/bar, not roller skate wheels on the edges of the splitter.

Currently on the Steeda Dual Rate springs that peak at over 300 lb/in and their competition front bar. I agree that the front spring could be higher though. Really wish that Steeda offered a coilover magneride conversion for the front like they do with their adjustable rear setup.
