I like this look.:D

High gloss black your mirror caps and tint your heads and she will look perfect.
I have been considering the mirror caps ever since I saw the pics of that GT350R in RR. It has the black roof and the caps just tie it all together! You are spot on with the light tint too, its going come with the next round of light mods including switchbacks and the LED rear running lights from Diode Dynamics!

Excited!

So, my Ford Racing suspension just arrived to my office. I opened it all up and everything is there and in good condition. Not this Sat, but next, it will all be installed along with a strut tower brace and some BMR camber caster bolts. Word to any of you guys wanting to purchase the Ford kit: It does not come with the single use bolts required when upgrading shocks and struts. The product description says all necessary hardware, so I waited to open it up and see this hardware before spending the $50 on the bolts. Save yourself the trouble and just order them when you order the kit. They are available at CJ pony parts...

Now, I know that there are a lot of suspension options out there. Steeda & BMR being two that are extremely high quality. However, you can easily drop 1500-2200 just on the basic shock/strut/roll bar/toe links/camber caster plate/bolt setup. For those, who like me, are trying to do all mods with high quality parts at the best available price this setup is a great option. I was able to get the kit, the BMR bolts, the replacement one time use bolts, and the strut tower brace for 1344, all in, including shipping to CALI! As I drive the car, and test its limits, I can make smaller upgrades along the way I.E. toe links, vertical links, billet sway bar mounts, etc... This will allow me to evaluate the merits of each upgrade separately and keep the build within the budget I laid out when I first started the build.

Well--here they are--nothing that hasn't hit the internets before, but I am extremely happy with the how extractors themselves look. The Roush install instructions are shit and their paper template is crap, but I knew that going in. When I have time I am going to make another template and drill two more holes in the center to hold it down more firmly (purely for appearance), and install some sort of weather stripping to keep water out... Overall it turned out well, so I am not in a huge hurry to fool with it just yet...
Hey, I know you posted this quite a while back. Fantastic Build! I am most likely going to be purchasing a Ruby Red Mustang and one of the first things I wanted to do was put in the Roush heat Extractors (black). How have they been holding up? Any issues with Water, mounting stability, etc...

Honestly Lorne34, I have had issues with all of the above. I am in the process of having my factory extractors painted black. With that being said, I love the look of the Rouch units, but they have never quite had a factory fit. I drilled a couple of extra holes to try to secure them and that helped, but now the driver side unit has a crack in it at the tip. I am going to remove them and peel them apart and see if they can be repaired and somehow modified so they fit easily and properly. If you want them, know that they will look awesome, but may never quite fit correctly. That being said, I think the fitment can vary from extractor to extractor. As you can tell they have been the bane of my existence with this car lol!

That is a major bummer. I always thought the Rouch parts were top notch and factory fit. I really don't like how small the stock heat extractors look especially when you try to contrast and paint them black. Have you reached out to the manufacturer either on this forum or direct to voice the issues you've been having. I see a lot of other builds with this mod.... maybe you just got a really bad set??

I think Roush parts having oem materials and fit are something that they propagate more so than that being the opinion of the Roush consumer. They make quality parts, but not anymore so than many other aftermarket manufacturers. Honestly I think you should give them a shot though, I did! You wouldnt have asked such a specific question if you werent aware of the issues people have had with them. Everyone has a different experience and a different tolerence for fitment. Me, Im gonna mess with something until it fits perfect or I break it or remove it. I contacted Roush to see if they would allow me to purchase just the driver side replacement unit. Mine have been painted so I didnt even try to get them to replace it. Roush has yet to respond and I have been too busy to call.

I Actually Have Not Heard Any Feedback On Those Extractors Before Your Post..but then again I have not been a regular on the forum. I am mainly concerned about the fit in terms of functionality and any possible damage due to water retention under the hood...I am a bit ocd so the fit may be of concern for me as well...thanks for the feedback again...let me know how it all works out

Sorry if that read like a critique it wasnt meant to be. It was a good question! I was at Home Depot today scouting out some hardware to use to secure them together and to the hood. If it goes well I will post some pics lol...
