Roll racing ain’t racing. If you can shift stay in the garage.

that’s somebody’s son.
And it looks like he will continue to be. I’m sure he will have some bumps and bruises and a nasty traffic ticket but they guy survived to learn from his mistake, his parents won’t get that nightmare phone call. Thank god. That could have been a horror show.

I know we’re supposed to cackle and point fingers at other people’s “stupidity” on the internet. Please resume!

How the hell did he just walk away from that Gumby body bending shit.
not uncommon at all. I came off mine at somewhere around 100mph. Nasty gash on my arm and feet turned black and blue but otherwise 'fine'. Was wearing full gear.

I hit a deer once at highway speed years ago. Despite full gear, I still spent the night in the hospital for observation due to a wicked concussion, and I felt like I had taken on a full-body beating for the next week. As the ER staff said, your gear did its job. I wish I had pics of my armored textile jacket, as it was pretty torn up.....

2 reasons why I haven't and never will own a motorcycle

- It's tempting to race. Wrecking a car gives you a much better chance at survival than a bike
- Other cars out on the road not paying attention. I've seen too many accidents cause a motorcycle going down the street and the person in their truck or suv doesn't see the motorcycle or doesn't care and they clobber 'em.

A bike is infinitely more difficult to launch, even in a roll. My Hayabusa at 600 lbs could lift the front all the way into 5th gear, and was very difficult to get on it in a lower gear like in the video.

There used to be an unwritten rule for large-displacement motorcycles ... if you just rolled on the gas, it wouldn't come over on you. With newer technology-engines, that just isn't the case anymore.

To me, it looks like he fanned the clutch and didn't expect full traction ... self-inflicted pull-over.

Not fun, and expensive (to the tune of $3,500 or more. He might, in fact, be hurt. But he DID have on leathers and full protection, so maybe not.

I went down on a racetrack at 160+ mph in a washboard decreasing-radius turn and only got sore (low-sided it) when I hit the hay bales (minimal repair costs ... new clutch cover, pipe, footpeg, and bars), so it's possible to do things like that without being injured. I sort of stopped road racing after that and concentrated on trials until I was forced to quit. Only had one more street bike before the road got too many idiot drivers on it for my liking to chance staying there.

I'd still offroad if I had the chance.

I've got a 2018 Suzuki GSX-S1000 and that's why I always leave the traction control on #2 as it cuts power although not sure it'd help that guy. Never turn it off in the Mustang either.
