  1. Car turning off while driving

Hopefully you're out of the woods then. I'm surprised that you had no codes at all though, especially if this event was recent. Who's E58 tune are you running? Do you ever collect datalogs?
  2. Impulse buy: stripes! Optional/factory style vinyl GT stripe kit going on. Any advice?

Question for you guys: How standard are these stripe kits? As far as I can tell, these are exact copies of the factory stripes...but I guess I don't know that for sure. Has anyone ever mixed/matched kits? I'm asking because I noticed that my roof stripe is ever so slightly off-center. I...
  3. What do y’all do for a living?

Interesting to see what you guys do!! I was in aerospace supply chain starting in my late 20s, went back to grad school in my 30s and now I'm a psychotherapist. I still refuse to drive a Volvo. :D
  4. Car turning off while driving

I have had this happen. My 2020 has Ford Racing tune/CAI, a few other things that shouldn't affect the reliability. I was sitting in stop and go traffic and it shut off. No signs of overheating but I was definitely not moving faster than 10mph. It just quit and the dash lit up with warning...
  5. Lund tune experience: at best a C+

Thanks! Unfortunately, I tried this at the time and it didn't do anything. It could be that changes to the 2020 software had not yet been accommodated but has since been corrected so if anyone else is swapping to 4.09s, definitely try updating this table before spending any more money.
  6. 2021 Mach 1 handling package wheels fitment.

This isn’t exactly true and you might see why in the post directly preceding yours.
  7. 2021 Mach 1 handling package wheels fitment.

I just had this observation myself last weekend when the Mach1 pace car for our "highway speed parade laps" at Palmer Motorsports Park was parked and I couldn't figure out why the wheels looked slightly better on the actual car.... well, it's true. The wheels that we can buy from Ford are...
  8. Impulse buy: stripes! Optional/factory style vinyl GT stripe kit going on. Any advice?

All done. I still have plenty of work to do with the heat gun and a pin to get rid of some tiny water bubbles that I didn’t totally squeegee out. I’m not going to lie, this took a long time for me. Applying stripes and getting them straight and centered is way harder than it looks. That...
  9. Impulse buy: stripes! Optional/factory style vinyl GT stripe kit going on. Any advice?

I just saw this kit on sale for ~$180 shipped and I thought....why not? They look pretty much right on compared to the factory stripes...Every time I see an '18 body style Mustang with these stripes, it turns my head. So, we'll see how much I actually like them on my own car. The price was...
  10. How do you not break your MT82?

It cracks me up when you guys talk about short throw shifters. I go back and forth between the A833 4spd with a Hurst shifter in my Dodge and the MT82 and the latter has about half the travel! Assuming we're not talking about a dump truck shifter, I actually prefer a longer throw even if it's...
  11. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

Good enough reason...I'll just add an anecdotal data point here in saying that the longest I've ever gone is ~3,900...many would say that with synthetic, it's a waste of money to change that early but I'm with you on leaning toward the side of caution. This is all very valid but do any of...
  12. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

I'll just say again, my comment was based on comparing two communities that are similar in demographics. Your comment, even if it was valid in some general sense, has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. People who are into building, maintaining, driving, enjoying older cars need to...
  13. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

I don't follow. You think your engine should...sometimes, for unknown reasons, in unpredictable circumstances, just start clattering, then stop for other unknown reasons? No, I don't think it should sound like that. I don't think it's the worst thing in the world but it sounds bad to my ear...
  14. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

Thanks for sharing your biases. I think you're misinformed but I don't get the sense that you are here to discuss. For anyone who is curious, the demographic overlap between the two communities that I'm talking about is very close. The Coyote Mustang crowd that I know well just tends to...
  15. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

I didn't start this thread because I think my motor is about to go TU. I didn't start this thread to ask the same old question over again...it was mostly because I don't come around the forums much anymore and I wanted to see what (if anything) the community had learned about this obnoxious...
  16. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

It’s good to hear you are satisfied with the engine being a black box. Nobody’s forcing you to care. Right?
  17. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

Awesome to hear this…am I wrong or is it true that this helps some people but not others? If so, what does that tell us? What is the Ceratec addressing? Not to be discouraging but I also had long periods when the tick would stop in my 2011 then show up again 2-3k later with no obvious changes...
  18. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

Your insight is appreciated here but I’m not yet convinced that this is apples:apples comparison. Mechanical engine noise is fine and even desirable. Porsches (older ones at least…) are often full of personality and texture. The engine noise and a bit of harshness are part of that. But are...
  19. The Coyote has been around for over a decade. We still don’t know what causes the “tick?!”

    It's a lot like a Shadowblack MT82 I think. Mine didn't come painted. :D
