Hey guys I got a 17inch drag pack for the rear with Hoosiers 28x 11.5x 17 size but for some reason my car feels faster with my 19inch 285s performance pack wheels yet they are alot heavier? Is it cause of the hoosier or am I going crazy here? Im running the low boost at 700whp but shouldn't i gain whp since my drag pack is alot lightwe than my stock wheels? Or is it because its a 17inch tire? This the exact tire and wheel I have.

Feels faster?

Do a 60-130, switch wheels/tires, and do another.

Weigh both setups while you're at it. The 28" might be lighter but it's also taller.

100lbs equals 0.1sec,a car length in 1/4 mile.same is 10hp gain,ie 0.1sec

If the Hoosier is taller, it's like changing your rear gears to a numerically smaller ratio. A taller tire decreases the torque the wheel applies to the road.

If you aren't spinning with the stock tires, the Hoosiers won't help in that regard either.

Edit: but with 700 HP you should prefer the changes. I'm surprised it isn't faster with the Hoosiers.

I mean the car definitely does spin but yes the hooiser is a very tall tire, I figured it was because its very tall, im 3.73 gears so does that mean im 3.55 with the hooisers?

I'm not sure. You'd have to do the math. I doubt it would be a big change.

Basically it's the ratio of the radii of the two tires is the amount of the change.

Does it spin on the hoosier? On a stick car I always preferred a bias ply but thats a different conversation.
A taller tire is like dropping down a ratio. I dig race more then roll and my mustang is an a10. Stock with 26" radial I went 11.60 at 119.
On my 6 speed camaro I run a 26" with a 4.10 gear I cross at traps at 7200. On a 28" I crossed at like 6800 and it slowed car down.
Like I said I dig race more then roll so this might not help you.

Was the tire mounted on a drag wheel? Or same tire the lower tire was on?
Because I my wheel is alot lighter my Nirmal wheel is 47lbs plus the tire is 28lbs and my hooiser is 19lbs and my drag tire is 29lbs soo shouldnt it be gaining whp??

It was mounted on stock 16s.
I don't do much roll racing so I prolly should have kept my mouth shut lol
I would think that once rolling the taller tire would let you hit a high mph before running out of rpm
