How many points are needed for a battery? I have like 31,000.As a more serious response, I’m probably just gonna use my Ford points and get whatever best Motorcraft battery the dealership has.

The 99R is a bit smaller, lighter (6 lb I think), and has much lower CCA rating. The 96R fits fine in a GT350. I replaced mine with a 96R.Anyone know what the difference between the GT350 99 and the Mustang 96 battery is?
Modern car electronics are always drawing some voltage from the batteries even when turned off. And if you have a push button start, and didn't lock the car, or kept the key fob near the car, the system will be actively looking for a signal from the key fob to lock/unlock or waiting to start the car. It’s an OEM battery that’s 11 months old. It’s just odd that it just completely died like that. Looks brand new too not even a spec of dust on it. Could the fuel system have stressed it? It seems to be directly connected to it.
14.4 volts at the battery.Ok it started right up when I jumped it. What’s the 14.4 v mean ?
In answer to your question, the 590 CCA replacement Motorcraft battery I obtained is listed as a "BXT 96R 590" on my receipt; no other part number identifier is indicated.Do you have a part number for the 96R series? My 19 currently has this one. Per Carfax it had a battery replaced in 2019, wonder if it's this one.
Good info. It looks like mine was replaced by the dealership before the car was even sold. Mine still seems to be working, but I plan on upgrading to the 96R at some point. In answer to your question, the 590 CCA replacement Motorcraft battery I obtained is listed as a "BXT 96R 590" on my receipt; no other part number identifier is indicated.
FYI, for what it's worth regarding Motorcraft batteries, I recall reading something previously that the 470 CCA battery was offered as a more powerful replacement alternative to the 390 CCA OEM battery in the GT350/R, weighing more than the 390 CCA battery, but less than the 590 CCA battery, sort of a compromise to provide more power than a 390 but less weight than a 590. It's my understanding that the 590 CCA battery is the OEM standard in non-Shelby Mustangs, yet the same size as the 390 CCA, so fitment would be equivalent.
I had auto zone put in a 750cc duralast on my 2019 gt.factory batteries too low on ccaWhat's the consensus on the replacement for the OEM battery? My '17 R with 2800 miles will be needing a replacement by spring. Wondering on what brands and specs seem to work well.

Btw, you should always keep these cars on a battery maintainer if they're not going to be driven for a few weeks, especially during the winter.

Actually, the modules are drawing current, not voltage. Voltage will tell you the state of charge of the battery. Anyway, if the vehicle has been turned off and sits for a predetermined amount of time, the modules go into "sleep" mode whereby it draws a lot less current than when active. There's also a "deep sleep" mode where it shuts off comm with external sources and only the critical modules (like the one to sense you touching the door handle with the fob in your pocket or when you press a button on the fob) is waiting to receive input. When it does, it awakens and causes the other modules to wake up as well. I put a current probe on my car and when it went to sleep in a couple of minutes, the current dropped down to under 50mA which is very little considering there are 22 systems onboard. I suspect that in "deep sleep" mode it draws even less (that takes a few days of being parked without being touched; that's when my FordPass app says I have to start the car to restore the other monitors in the app that have been disabled in the car).
