Nice looking install! What brand and model mirror mount is that? Is that a Blendmount? Can the detector be easily removed without screwing up the mount adjustment? (I've got a convertible and need something I can easily add and remove.)

The clean look.....

On my set up, I used a very small zip tie to make sure the wire doesn't accidently unplug. It was hidden inside the plastic sleeve cover. Here's my RedLine setup....

I had mine wired into the car. Last time I used the small wire loom it kept falling out.

I had to use a small black unnoticeable ziptie to keep the pins from falling out but so far looks and works good.

I just installed mine and I love it. The strange thing is that sometimes it powers up on it's own and other times it does not.

I love these setups.... Im trying to create my own mount using the clamps from a bicycle reflector.... Not going well. I wished they made one of these for whistler C90.

What I have so far

I doesn't look terrible but I am worried it will bounce too much when driving.

FYI, I purchased a Mirror Mount from performance package (same as original link) for a Escort Passport 9500ix for my '15 GT premium. It came with a Mirror power tap just like OP's but the pins were WAY too large to fit in the mirror. Performance Package says the pins are .075". According to BlendMount/MirrorTap we should be using a .05" tap.

I attempted to shave down/ cut the pins in half with a wire cutter but ended up slicing the pin completely off (DOH!).

Found a seller on eBay with a cable and .04" tap for $10, going to try that and report back. BlendMount is selling the .05" tap cables for $25...

Got the .04" tap. It fits much better than the .075" tap, though it was still a pretty tight fit. I'm amazed some people were able to get larger taps in their mirror.

Hi, WesleyEng,
I'm really intrigued with your radar detector setup. I'm trying to find a way to shoehorn my Escort 8500 above the rear view mirror, and judging by your 2nd photo above, it looks like you don't have yours attached to the visor. Is the mount connected between the space between your windshield and headliner somehow? If so, where did you buy it?

I'm also considering permanently mounting the suction mount on the "frit" of the windshield with a silicone adhesive. It's going to be really tight and I know I'm likely going to lose the detection capability from the rear (due to the light/convertible controls), but I'd rather have it permanently mounted there and somewhat hidden from a thief's view with the frit...

Thanks!
