Unfortunately mine has both rain sensing wipers and collision avoidance :( So, looks like I'l have to finagle it a bit!
I have both lane and rain sensors and tapped my detector and DashCam there without issue. Just use a multimeter to check power.

Uniden R7 with mirror mount kit. One of the best bang-for-buck options out there and it stays nice & tucked away

They probably have one of the best apps too. I know a few folks who run a dedicated android phone to enhance their situational awareness. Too bad it doesn’t work on iPhone.
Yeah, I’m an iPhone user, but the absence of a phone app isn’t a big deal to me.

Here’s the detector and control module…

After stepping up to the GT from my v6 I find myself reaching some speeds that wouldn't look too pretty in the eyes of the law:crackup: I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with radar detectors/jammers. I live in a state where jammers are legal. I also am not a huge fan of a ton of wires going all over the dash so if possible are there wireless ones or built in detectors. What do you all recommend?
I see recommendations for Uniden R3 and R7 which are both incredible units. I use the R7 and my wife uses the R3 and both work great; my wife can't even drive unless she has her radar on now 😁. We live in Texas and have not had a ticket in 8 years, I do 100 mph often in my Mustang and also knowwhichareas Ican get away with speeding. The key is knowing how to use the detector and going at a speed you can slow down in time if you have a big signal hit.

Good luck to you...

But to anyone who compares a radio wave to a laser (typically ultraviolet) wave on the electromagnetic spectrum and says they are the same thing is going to get laughed at. Sure they are similar, but accomplish very different goals and have very different effects on people and their surroundings. Hence why they are governed by different bodies.:like:
You have a fundamental misunderstanding about what I'm saying, the law covers harmful emissions. Jamming by definition requires the generation of harmful emissions. Laser radiation is emissions. Running a laser jammer is blasting harmful emissions out of the front of your car. That is what I'm saying.

Laser jammers are not expressly legal, they are just not currently governed by any law or rule. Radar jammers were eventually banned and made extremely illegal, the same thing will occur for lasers if enough jammers start to be circulated.

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how LIDAR and LIDAR jammers work. Their “emissions” are no more harmful than the LIDAR gun the cop is using and it’s not just blasting laser beams all over the road melting peoples faces and causing cancer 🤣

LIDAR jammers have been around for nearly 30 years, I doubt they’ll get “banned” anytime soon. Stop with the fear mongering, you’re looking pretty ridiculous.

whatever man, you’re asking for trouble by running a jammer. They’ll find a way, you think you’re gonna jam a cop and they’re just gonna go “darn” and let you speed off? That they’re able to grab everyone else’s speed but the mustang flying down the highway suddenly cannot be clocked and that’s just not suspicious at all?

Actually, they do clock you. The way the jammer works is by "jamming" the lidar for a few seconds, like 5 or so, and alerting you, giving you time to slow down. It automatically shuts off and the officer gets his reading, none the wiser.

The gun reports an error until your jammer shuts off, that’s gonna be really suspicious if they’re able to clock every other car except one. I did research these things I know how they work, you have to slow down quick enough.

I considered buying one too a while ago, but the risk is not worth it. Most police are still using radar anyway.

Only if you’re in a state that has laws against them. The feds aren’t out there pulling people over for misdemeanor traffic violations. As I said, you’re fear mongering over something that isn’t even an issue for most of us. If you don’t want to use them, that’s fine, no one is twisting your arm. But until you come with some cold hard facts concerning actual charges and court time it’s just hyperbole.

I’m not fear mongering I’m just telling you what you don’t want to hear.
Radar jammers are illegal, lidar jammers aren’t yet illegal, both devices operate very similarly, both serve the same purpose, both generate spurious emissions on the EM spectrum, both interfere with legit law enforcement, both block the police from obtaining your speed.

Yet you want me to believe that I’m saying something so outlandish that is has to be “fear mongering”. Sure.

No one was talking about radar jammers and they are illegal because the FCC controls that frequency spectrum. LIDAR frequencies are under the purview of the FDA and they have made zero motion in 30 YEARS to create laws to limit their use. So no, you’re not telling me anything I don’t want to hear, your speaking jibberish and trying to make everyone believe they are risking jail time for using a product that has no federal laws against its use. Only some states have done that.

Notice how you’re the only one in this thread supporting your argument? So either the rest of us are just less intelligent than you or perhaps we all know better, thanks for playing.

When you resort to calling names and being rude you forfeit any credibility you had.

Saying things like “you’re speaking jibberish” “you’re fear mongering” “you’re the only one supporting your point so we must all be stupider than you” all erode your credibility. They make me think even more that you don’t actually care about discussing this.

I’ve given several common sense explanations about these devices. I’ve given logical reasoning to why I believe this is a bad idea. My last post before this is the clearest I could make my point. I’ve given a link to a website that sells and advocates for jammers directly coming and saying that using one is at your own risk. Yet you’ve continued to ignore anything I’ve said, disregard all of my explanations, and continually attempt to, bluntly, be a bully to me, in front of others.

We don’t have to agree, I don’t have to think you’re right.
