Valentine checks for signal from front and back.dont think others do
I am now running an Escort Max360 which also has directional signal arrows. I thought I didn't need it but now that I do I don't think I'll go back to being without it. This one also does not false alert Honda blind spot monitoring like my old one did. On road trips I use the Max360 and Waze combo which gives about as good protection as I could ever hope for.

Even with programming specific bandwidth range monitoring, Mazda's blindspot monitoring still gives me falses. It's a bit annoying. Lol

I have a Rodenso XP and it's sufficient, don't think I need anything more from a radar detector.

Are you using the Max360? I haven't noticed trouble with any, including Mazda. My older Escort, yes.

No, an Uniden R7.

I programmed out a lot of false bands from other manufacturers, but Mazda uses some dumb frequency that groups with radar guns of certain types so i dont ignore that range. It's dumb.

Uniden R4 here just for hwy, custom configured. R4 and R9 (arrows) are the top rated but check rdforum.org for more info. Maybe you need undetectable one....

Everyone needs stealth radar and Lazer jammers but the cost is so high.

Aside from the radar detectors, what’s the most common radar being used by today’s Policing Authority?

R8 here. I like the long range and the directional arrows. Combined with Waze, I also make sure there’s always a car ahead to light up instant on.

Depends heavily on location https://lexbrook.com/rdf/

Around me
highway: laser for initial checks at distance then Ka to get the final speed and issue the ticket
local dense towns/cities: Ka exclusively
smaller towns/rural areas: mix of K and Ka

It may be that one K/Ka/Laser gun is king of the hill but it seems like they remain in use for years even when new models come out. You'll see it all.

Laser is tough, because there's no early alert for it because of the highly columnated beam. Even worse the R7's laser alert abilities appear to be abysmal, I've never got a laser alert ever, despite highway patrol in my area using laser extensively and my commute being mostly highway for the past 3 years. Usually I've been able to rely on alerts to train me where and how certain areas are patrolled, but not with laser its almost entirely unknown.

With nearly every laser protection setup being well into the many thousands of dollars its essentially a huge blind spot in your protection.

crazy, I get laser alerts more often than I would like…most major metro areas.
