If your neck is truly hurting is one thing if your planning to make it up?
Then your not a very nice person and it's no wonder car insurance is what it is!
Where the hell did that come from??

Dude, that is a heck of a hit. If the car ends up being repaired, pull all of the trunk liner material and make sure everything is fixed and not just covered up. Also climb underneath and look it over very closely. People will spend more time trying to halfass something than just fixing it right. Personally, I would not be happy with the car from that point forward, no mater how well they fixed it.

I am glad it was not any more serious than what it was.

I agree!
My wife got rear ended by a Dodge Ram going about 40 while she was sitting stopped in traffic on the freeway. She was ok, thank God! This was in our 2005 Screaming Yellow V-6. They didn't total the car, had it repaired and the paint never did look the same. Also cost us when we traded for the 2015.

My heart goes out to you bro.

dunno about early retirement, but he might get a few grand for "pain and suffering" . Not sure what the standard is for rear-end collisions. I believe this is one of the most common accidents

this is pure speculation, but you get the idea :

Haven't you guys made texting/calling/using mobile while driving illegal yet? It is over here, 3 points on license & a ÂŁ100 fine if you're caught.

It is in a lot of areas......no one seems to care though. I had an idiot tailgating me for miles on the highway a while back and I could see him holding the phone on his wheel. I wanted to brake check him really bad....if I was in a pos I would have.
OP.....get checked out. My mother was rear ended in her Nissan a long time ago and felt fine at first. She has had issues with her neck for years now because of it.

Why in hell would you allow them to tailgate you for miles. Just get over and let them by. Even if you brake checked them, they wouldn't understand and you would be getting the horn and middle finger.

It amazes me the number of people that I see in new cars that have blue tooth that still have the phone to the side of their head.

I took mine to a dealer and only after touring every dealer in the area first to see them in action and the work in progress as well as finished cars. A dealer has more incentive to not mess up or cut corners. Most body shops don't count on repeat business but a dealer can lose future car sales, future warranty work, etc, if the body shop screws someone.

That is one really hard hit...

Just how fast was that Nissan going? About 35-40?

Glad you're okay. Don't talk about how your neck is feeling though, go to the Doctor and get examined. A neck injury can appear to be insignificant but you can have nerve issues and such that won't present until later and in unusual places.

To the op, I got into an accident, once (my fault) I was ok and figured I got lucky, the next day I had some serious pain anf by the third it was hard to walk and move my shoulder. It does take a few days before you really know how that impact affected you.

Glad you're okay OP...cars can be replaced.
I had a similar looking accident last December (whole trunk was crushed in plus was pushed into guy in front of me) by a guy texting in my 14. I wasn't going to go to the doctor, but was happy I did. Luckily I was just a little stiff and had a minor concussion but they gave me some meds that made it feel a lot better. The best recommendation I can give car related is make sure a quality shop does the repair work (if it isn't totaled). Insurance wouldn't total my 14 (16000+ in damage) so I called around and found a quality shop that had several "car guys" that also happened to love Mustangs working there and they did a fantastic job. I originally was upset and thought that the car would never be the same, but i couldn't have been more wrong.

I have been rear end a couple of times. All were very minor and I didnt have any pain the next day. However, a few years later I have major arthritis in my neck and see a chiropractor pretty regularly.

I can't say for sure that the wrecks were the cause, but I hope it never impacts you the way it has me.
