Hi everyone I’ve just finished crash rebuild mustang starts and runs fine however yesterday I let it run for a while for a while and experienced a coolant leak at the bottom radiator hose ( my fault wasn’t fully clipped in) but also water was dropping from onto the driver side (rhd ) exhaust when I went underneath It seemed like it was coming from somewhere above the transmission but it wasn’t coolant as it looked like clear water any ideas what this could be ?
Thank you

Reads like you've had a lot going on. England. Check. EU spec.

I can see the liquid is clear. Any chance this is condensation from the air conditioning unit? You've been doing a lot of mechanical work. Nothing more than water which had been resting and is now being freed up?

Hi thanks for getting back That’s what I’m hoping it is not sure where the ac unit would be sitting could it be the ac drain tube ?

Mine drains on the right side of the car, the Driver's side in England. Could be Ford left a lot of the bits as-is versus reversing all the connections and areas involved.

Didn’t know that’s actually a thing but fair enough but it’s dried off now unfortunately

Thank you for the help I’ll start it again later today and see if that was actually the problem

If your AC compressor is kicking on because you have the windshield defroster or AC in operation, it’s most likely what it is.

Like others have mentioned it’s more than likely AC condensation. Mine did it the other day under the trans and made me a little nervous till I cleaned it up only to find it was AC condensation

Hello; Many years ago I was helping a friend work on a VW Rabbit I think. Would not turn over. Pulled a spark plug and found water. Got in a diagnosis hurry and we decided it must be a bad head gasket.
Pulled the head and the gasket looked fine. dawned on us the water was just water and not a water /coolant mix.
Traced it back to the space just in front of the windshield. A sort of "tray" on the firewall. A space where the wiper assembly lived and various ducts which fed the vents. It had drain opening but that opening was clogged up. For some reason VW had tubes running from the engine intake up to that "tray". During heavy rain the "tray" had filled with water. Water had found a way down to the intake, then into the engine.

Anyway, a lot of work not needed.
