  1. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

I have a 17 I bought new with Sync 3 and there has always been a charge for maps. I used to have a 15 with MyFordTouch the maps for this system were on an SD card that plugged into the slot in the console. Ford charged for these map updates too but you could always get them on eBay for around $30.
  2. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

Even when the car was new the maps cost from Ford.
  3. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

I just followed the link in the post above and a nav update for my 17 is $149 on USB and $109 for download. I will use Cyanlabs and get them for free. FWIW, my 17 came with 15 maps, I updated to 18 maps and the only thing I noticed was that all the ponds in my area now had their names listed...
  4. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

Yes, you can choose to down load maps or not when you update.
  5. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

You can download the 2020 maps to your PC from the Cyanlabs web page. They have a piece of software that you install on your PC. In the software you pick your region, the version of of Sync 3.4 you want and the version of the maps you want. The software will download the needed files format the...
  6. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

Speaking of Wireless Carplay adapters. My wife just got a 2021 Jeep Cherokee and the uConnect did not have factory navigation. While both CarPlay and Android Auto work seemlessly it is still a nuisance for her to take her iPhone out of her purse and plug it in to use Carplay. I was looking at...
  7. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

Over the past 10 years there have only been a few new roads (all housing developments) in my area and it has taken a year or more after people have actually started to move into the homes on those roads for the road to show up on Google Maps. I always get a chuckle when I hear folks say Google...
  8. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

At least in my neck of the woods there were a large number of speed limit errors in NA 1 19, many more than in 1 15 or 1 18. The NA 2 20 maps fixed most of those issues.
  9. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

My Ecoboost Mustang is typically 400 to 420 miles to empty after filling the tank. Typically fill it with 390 miles on the trip odometer but sometimes push it over 400.
  10. Map update

I downloaded an update to Sync as well as the new 2020 maps and did the both at once. The sync update did not noticeably change the way Sync looks or works, maybe a little faster. Not sure if it is required for the 2020 maps or not. But if you are using the Cyanlabs.com Sync Updater software to...
  11. Map update

You can go to Cyanlabs.com and down load the 2020 maps for free. Updated my 17 to Sync 3.4.21020 and the 2020 maps a couple of weeks ago. The 2020 maps fixed most of the speed limit errors that were in the 2019 maps but did not update all the hiway exit number changes that have been going on...
  12. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

Well it may be my imagination but 3.4.20351 seems to be a little snappier responding to commands, but, there are no real visual differences. The NA 2 20 maps fixed a lot of the speed limit errors that were introduced with NA 1 19 but has a few new errors. It does not address the renumbering of...
  13. Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

That is true if you want the update officially from Ford. I have a 17 that came with version 2.2. I am currently on 3.4.20351 with NA 2 20 maps. This is from Cyanlabs.com.
  14. 2020 Sync Maps

Well the update went without incident. The 2020 maps seem to have fixed the speed limit mistakes that were in the 2019 maps. The new Sync update seems to be a little snappier but it could be my imagination. The only other thing I hope the new maps address is all across the state they have been...
  15. 2020 Sync Maps

Well I was poking around on Cyanlabs site and 2020 maps are out along with a new Sync 3.4 version. I have down loaded Sync 3.4.2102 and NA 2 20 maps. I will install tomorrow and will report on how it goes.
  16. 2020 Sync Maps

Anyone heard when a new map update is going to come out? I am on NA 1 19 and there are a lot more speed limit errors in my area than there were with either NA 1 15 or NA 1 18. I updated to Sync 3.4 with Cyan Labs from 3.0 and can't go back to the NA 1 18 maps without down grading to 3.0
  17. Android auto wireless (at least from phone)

That is one of the primary features I look for when buying a new phone, the size of the battery. It's why I very seldom have a need to charge the phone in the car. I can quite often go two days without putting the phone on the charger.
  18. Android auto wireless (at least from phone)

Could we'll be in the past year or two but my 17 Mustang, 15 Mustang, the wife's 14 Dodge and all the cigarette adapters that are not Qualcomm Fast Charge compliant won't.
  19. Android auto wireless (at least from phone)

Plus there is not enough power in the USB port to effectively charge any phone made in the past few years. On my 25 mile 40 minute commute the USB port will only charge the phone 5 to 10%. I seldom need to charge the phone in the car but when I do I have a cigarette lighter fast charger. It...
  20. Question about the Ford performance package

I have had the FP M-9603-M4 tune on my 17 Ecoboost for over 50k miles. It is every bit as good as any other Stage 1 tune you could use. It comes with the GT350 CAI which gives you a little bling under the hood. I have been driving turbo 4cyl cars as daily driver's for over 35 years all of which...
