Dan: You make an excellent point, it takes extra care to dry the vehicle without spotting.
However, in my experience, when water sheets off a vehicle, the amount remaining begins to evaporate very quickly and unless you have multiple people with blow dryers available, you can't physically finish drying quickly enough to avoid all sorts of mineral spots, much more so than beaded moisture. Add dryer than average air, (I'm in south Texas and we've never heard of dryer air, <smile>) and it just accelerates the process.
Now, if you rinsed with DISTILLED water, we probably wouldn't be chuckling at this thread. <BIG smile> Hmm..perhaps there is a product in there somewhere..? (yukkity yuk) "The CLEAREST Rinse" by Ronco.
Returning to the original thought..while choosing the section of a larger image to post above, I noticed little black dots in the "beads" and thought, WTF,O?
Zoomed in to a few of them and realized the angular repetition...the darker spots are the "shadows" of the glints "down light or down sun." As much as I am in Photoshop doodling and especially since I saw this thread, I have been looking more closely at "bead shots" and this is the first time I REMEMBER seeing the shadows.
As old Arte Johnson on "Laugh In" was known to say...
"VERRWWWEEE INTAWESTING" :-)
