That's a huge bummer that NLS can't be deactivated. I'm also in the boat that I don't want to change my shifting habits when driving hard.

Looking at this for my next purchase, along with an x-pipe (maybe).
What will it take to get her up to 480 HP? Long tubes / X-pipe?
Or go for a Steeda CAI and Lunds tune. ;)

You should be a little over 480hp with those parts.

Just a question but with everybody who doesn’t like the nls could not disengaging the clutch all the way cause many of these premature clutch failures?

Anyone notice a major difference in exhaust note after install? I’m running Roush X-pipe and axle back, and the exhaust note seems to be much deeper (less raspy) and not quite as loud at lower RPM. Screams at WOT, but I guess I miss the raspiness during low RPM daily driving. Otherwise, very please with the torque increase of the power pack 2.

For me it's a learning thing. I thought I was fully disengaging the clutch when I shift but feeling the car stumble between shifts told me I wasn't. I'm trying to train my foot to do better. It's just an odd feeling when you go to shift and the car hesitates.

For you was this a side effect of the pp2? It took me a while to get the shifting down because it seems to be either I’m banging through the gears or waiting for the car to rev match with no in between and that is stock. I don’t have a pp yet but I’m interested in getting one and it’ll have to be ford since I’m from California

Is this nls issue only above 5k rpm? So basically you have to cmpletely take your foot off the clutch and then get back on the gas? I tried shifting gears doing this from 3-4 around 4k rpm and it just feels weird and kinda stumbles letting the clutch completely out and then back on gas. Mind you I have not installed kit yet, just testing the sensation.

I honestly haven't had any problems with NLS but I have the Steeda spring and don't leave my foot on the clutch between shifts.

The NLS simply drops the rev limiter to ~5k RPM when the clutch pedal is not at the top of it's travel. I think this corresponds to a point near the torque peak on the curve. If you aren't passing 5k RPM the NLS feature will never kick in.

I installed mine today. I have a manual trans and I'd say driveabililty is pretty much the same as before the install. I don't use a clutch pedal spring and so far I'm not having the issues with the NLS engaging unintentionally. I have tried using NLS and I think it is a good feature.

The install took about 2 hours taking my time. I had already removed my sound tube, though. It is pretty easy and straight forward to install. I loaded my tune before I installed the CAI or TB. This way if there was an issue loading the tune, I would still be able to use my car with the old tune/hardware.

The wire harness on my throttle body took a bit of work to get off. Once you pull the red tab on the clip, push down on the center/back of the clip where that red tab would have stopped you before. This will lift a plastic lip to let you pull off the harness. Also, mine was taped, so I had to cut away electrical tape around the plastic clip.

The hardest part of the install was putting the air filter back in just due to how tight it fits. And that's not very hard, so just goes to show you it's pretty easy.

I did have to notch my engine cover to avoid having it put any pressure on the intake tube. I tried adjusting the tube to avoid having to cut the cover, but in the end decided to just take out the dremel and make the quarter sized cut. For the "T" connection, if you plan out your cuts, you won't need additional fuel line tubing. But it might not be a bad idea to pick up a foot of that at your local auto store before hand if you are worried about the T connection part of the install.

The new throttle body fits in that space very tightly. I kept thinking I had the TB upside down it fit so tight. But my JLT oil separator still fits easily.

I attached a photo of the cut you have to make to the rubber flange on the air box since some people wonder why that has to be done. It cost me $608 shipped and arrived three days after I ordered it. So far I like it and have no regrets. The car is faster, more responsive, a bit louder (not sure if it's exhaust or intake) and like I said, no issues with daily driveability.
