I wanted to get your guys feedback on my spark plugs. All seem to be fine but I did see some oil on the spark plug threads of cylinder 3. I included some info on the car as well as some images. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I figured I could get another opinion.

Here is some info on my car:
  • 2016 GT350
  • Mileage 23K
  • Burn about a Quart of oil every 500miles.
    • Took it to the dealership and did an oil consumption test. Oil loss was within acceptable range.
  • Currently us Motocraft oil (thinking of switching to Amsoil).

You're burning a bit of oil (obviously), but overall they look decent. FWIW, here's how mine looked at 19k miles on my original motor (which saw both street and track use).

Ok, thats reassuring. I was a bit worried about the oil on the threads. On a side note love what you did with your car. Love seeing the whole process and glad you documented and shared the journey.

Mine was burning around1/ 500 up until 10k then it was about 440, got down to 325 per at 20k. As soon as the dealer saw oil on a plug they finally took me serious and replaced the motor.

So did you get, oil on your plugs around the 20K? Also is that the time you got the motor replaced?

I drove it more because they wanted to make a PCV valve change per the flow chart or whatever. There’s about 23k on it now and it’s at the local dealer waiting for some parts for the motor install, but yeah they saw oil on the plug after the change and could no longer BS me around. I’m driving the shit out of an F150 EcoBoost.

Was there a ton of oil on the tip of the spark plug or was it very minimal?

@honeybadger I get the impression a bit of blow by is acceptable with this engine. What do you think? Do you consider it normal?
