I am taking my gt350 tomorrow for an oil consumption test hoping for a motor replacement and wondering if there is anything I need to be aware or be prepared for.
This is the amount of the consumption that I've recorded.
2017 gt350 purchased at 950 miles.
First oil change done at 990 miles
Added first quart of oil at 2200 miles.
Second quart added at 3153 miles
Third quart added at 3678 miles.
I am now at 4009 miles and it is close to bottom dot of oil dip stick.
Would this consumption amount good enough for ford to honor me a new motor? Also this could be a stupid question but removing the catch can necessary? Thanks

They will open a case and you will have to do a series of 500 mile checks for oil consumption. If you have a warranty then it doesn't hurt to at least get it checked out.

Remove catch cans.
Why would removing the catch cans matter as long as you can account for the amount of oil in the can? If it's like mine there's maybe an ounce or two of oil every thousand miles or so.

OP did you check the oil in your catch cans? If so, what is the amount of oil in there?
Either way your engine consumes more than normal amount of oil even by Ford 1qt/500ml.
