What went on 2016-2018, what was different about the engines? Just curious haha... I am somewhat new to this forum and appreciate all educational moments.
If you haven't seen it yet check out the GT350 Basics sticky - a lot of great info here

Including differences between model years like you're asking about...

It's hard to know what you're facing since we don't know your car. Can't say it will or won't get worse, but if the consumption seems to be beyond what Ford has deemed normal, you can have an oil consumption test done at a Ford service department. As I understand it, the test involves an oil change and marking the dipstick at the full point, then monitoring the oil level after a few hundred miles to see how much oil is being consumed. If it is beyond the norm, and the powertrain warranty is still good (this part is crucial), Ford may decide to replace the engine with a new Voodoo.

If the warranty is expired and you want a new engine you'll likely have to pay out of pocket. If you've never seen what a Voodoo costs to replace, get ready for a shock 😱💸

If you want to check the status of your warranty: https://www.ford.com/support/warranty/

If you have a CarMax warranty or some other 3rd party, check your documentation to see what's covered.

Best advice I've seen is: Stock up on oil, check it often, fill as needed. Don't worry about it too much, and enjoy your car.
