So I bought a 10qt case of motorcraft 5w50 along with the 2067 filter.
I took it up to a quick oil change place as I don’t currently have a jack that fits under the car.
when they took the skid plate off it has a spin on oil filter conversion done so the 2067 is not going to work.
Hes calling his help desk but might have to just have new oil put in (already drained) and leave the old filter in place until I can figure it out.
im going to ask to get a pic of the filter that’s on the car but didn’t know if anyone has experience with this conversion. They just told me they had to put the old oil filter on so I could source one. He said once I do to bring him the filter and a couple quarts and he would swap it for free.
I still have to figure out the filter but I have a 2067 I might put on eBay lol.

I think it’s supposed to be the FL2069-ST which is factory on the early engines? mine is an RPG built engine so they might have used the original engine in the build as my build date is 6/16.

What part number was the old filter they took off? Believe they first went to the FL-2062 cartridge style filter then eventually went to the FL-2087 which are difficult to come by now.

It’s not a conversion, the early cars up to early 2017 (?) have a spin on filter

Yup that’s what I’m seeing, I thought because they put a built engine in this last year they used the later one but I think they just built the original I just have to verify the block stamp. The build date of the car is 6/16 so that fits the scenario.

Just ordered the filter for $20 and ordered couple quarts 5w50 so they can swap it for $9 quart.
Oreillys has it pretty cheap for a full synthetic.

What brand of “really cheap” oil are you getting?

I assume from your post that you have not previously changed your own oil and that the service center you went to is not a Ford dealership. If that is the case, make double sure when they put on the new filter that they torque it to spec, not just hand tighten, which they may not know to do without your specific instruction. Always important but especially with the older spin on filters.

Good to know as I have to take it back to get the filter swapped when it comes in. I usually do my own oil but in this case the car was lowered by previous owner and instead of buying a special jack and accommodations Im going to raise the car to factory height but just wanted to get a baseline oil change done.

Get rid of the spin on filter if you can. Those were the ones that liked to back themselves off the motor while driving.
