Official Ford Sync3 3.4 Release

I just put in my VIN to check for updates. The Ford SYNC website stated what I posted above in bold.

Have any other folks with the base 4" stereo installed the update?

Scott, no one has installed any Sync 3 update to the base radio system.

This is what you have.

One other thing. When you go into the Ford Owner site and then Sync updates I do not recall having to enter my VIN. Maybe it’s different with the base radio?

I wasn't logged into the site when it asked for the VIN. Once I went back and logged in it knew what vehicle and gave me the same notice of what update was available for the car. I know what SYNC system the car has. I was just going by what the SYNC site was showing. I'm just leaving it as-is. Its not like there is anything to update or change in the base radio. I pretty much exclusively use the Pandora app for music.

The 4 inch does run SYNC (no nav) and can be updated to 3.4 20136.

Depending on what version you currently have, the app, voice command, gracenote will be updated

The base does have Sync but not Sync 3. How can it be updated to 3.4?

Guess I'll throw the charger on the car and see if the update works. I have it on a USB drive ready to go.

Success! I'm now running the 3.4.20196. I did have a nervous moment when it rebooted and I had a black screen for what seemed like forever.

Hope they fix those old thumbnail images that appear when running Spotify and not using Apple Play.

It seems to be using images from the artists first albums, which are horribly dated.

Same songs on my Dodge show with the most current images of the artists.

Is there a new version available??? I updated to Sync 3.4 not too long ago, with version 20136.

No. SYNC3 v3.4.20136 is still the latest.

Benefit of having the 4" screen......took all of 15 minutes to update the system. Not sure of any changes as of yet.

.... The Sync update is the same for the 8 inch screen. Takes the same amount of time. The NAV update is the headache one!.
