Is the MACH 1 geared lower than the Bullitt? Sure seems so in this video. Sounds great though, and the car seems to have perfect manners for canyon carving.

I find the long gearing makes 3rd gear a fantastic canyon carver gear, but the few times he went into 4th makes me think the M1 is geared lower. 7K in 3rd in the Bullitt is 120+ and I doubt he was going that fast.

I have toyed with the idea of a M1, but not a big fan of the sticker package. Was the same for the GT 350. I'm not a fan of stripes and stickers, and why I was drawn to the Bullitt. It is the Fighter Jet Gray that really draws me. I may end up getting the Bullitt wrapped in FJG I like it so much.
Yes, the manual gear ratios in the Tremec are lower than the corresponding ratios in the MT82. Tremec 5th is 1:1, but MT82 is 1:1 in 4th. That IMO is why there will never be a Tremec in the S650 GT’s… also why we pay the gas guzzler tax and GT’s dont. The Mach feels closer to my GT with 4.09’s did than it feels to a stock GT.

GT350 and 500 guys tend to look down on us because, well, we're not them.
No sir, I would own one if I had more room in my garage. One of my FO's asked me about the car and I recommended it. He could have bought it for a few grand below sticker, but passed..... cheapskate.

Anyway, the 350 and 500 folks don't look down on Mach 1's. I think that the friction is that many venture into other subforums with little regard or respect to their surroundings. The GT guys are probably the worst. The point is (and i abide by this myself) is be respectful of each others subforum. I, right now, am out of the subforum that pertains directly to me (350 and 500). You will never catch me trash talking here or giving advice on something that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I saw this thread and i wanted to comment. In the 350 and 500 subforums, I sometimes exhibit frustration with the "free for all". To be fair, I have come to realize that a lot of this is due to the way the website is set up. You click on a link on the main page, and you have no idea which subforum it takes you to.

You all have special cars. Don't think you are looked down upon for a second. I remember seeing my first Mach 1 in the wild. Fighter jet grey, stripes, man it looked good.

Thanks for listening.

Do the Mach1s at the Track experience have auto or manual transmissions?
There was a mix, manual is the default, but a few in my group drove automatics. I think you just have to specify you want an auto during registration.

A few of you don't. But a few of you do...
Who cares? :cwl:
Some act like you have a completely different car if you didn’t order the bolt ons in the HP option. It goes on and on. I just mock the silliness because it’s funny.
I’ll say this. They definitely have less of a sense of humor in the GT500 sub forum.

Here's my 2 cents. I'm probably going to upset some 350 owners and some M1 owners.

I got my 350 back in early 2018. For the first 6 months or so, people still lost their minds even though the 350 had been out for a bit. Everywhere. At meets, gas stations, everywhere. After that, it was honestly old news. The ONLY comments I got after that were related to me having my toddler seat in the back. No one cared. Even when I moved and was new in town, no difference.

This past saturday, first meet I went to in a while, our 220K population town had 6 mach 1s, 3 of which were HPs. 5 of which, were fighter jet gray. The comments I get now are "didn't know they made a new mach 1", and "man, love that color". Aside from that...it's also old news.

It happens. Next summer, the dark horse will be old news. The M2 will be old news. You should have something you enjoy looking at, working on, or driving. Not owning something for clout or bragging rights.
Yep. I was one of the FJG ones at that show. However, I remember being the only Mach 1 that came to shows in Huntsville when I bought mine in Apr 2021. Those were the good old days! Truth be told I still get compliments although I have never won anything at a show. I don't expect to either. From your 350 details here, did you have the Avalanche Gray one? I remember parking next to one with a child's seat so I could see the color difference and that would have been around that time. I have opinions on parts bin and all that stuff (what car isn't a parts bin whether you are building it or Ford does?). I love my car, and plan to keep it a long time. The DH will be the soup du jour for a while but then there will be plenty of them around although the higher cost might affect that. I would like to have a GT500 in Code Orange for a number of reasons if I could have any car, and I think due to price and rarity it would probably stay more unique. With the way people get rid of cars, I think the S550 Mach 1 will enjoy a resurgence of rarity down the road.

There’s a reason they made them removable. I think the plan changed somewhere along the line…But then again, what do I know. My inserts are smaller because I don’t have the big wheel and tire option. :cwl:
It will never be confirmed but my conspiracy theory is that the dual intake 5.0 was headed to the Mach 1. Everything about that car on the front end was purpose built-aero...cooling ducts...no shaker...then there were rumors of it getting to 500+ HP. Then tighter emissions hit and let's face it, S650 needed some kind of a selling point beyond new ipad screens. I think the dual intake was pushed to S650 and we got faux inserts.

I don't dislike FJG. I would've considered it if Yea, I didn't just have avalanche gray. The avalanche did not have any green in it like FJG does. Still pretty close colors. And that probably was mine with the car seat. That car is no longer around but another guy has a near identical car. He has tinted tails and fronts I think. And a tune. Mine was gone as of like September of 21.

And also, in fairness, I don't attend shows. Just like 2 meets a year and I usually leave early (toddler things) 😅 I'm sure at shows they get more attention still.

I'm sure we will see a dark horse or two in our area, but I think they'll end up being 350R rarity, depending on how many years they make it. Had a deposit on one earlier in the year and changed my mind. With you on the parts bin comment(s). It's a silly one.

that sounds like the most reasonable guess as to why the M1 got the dual faux openings in the grill I've heard yet.

I'm pretty sure I talked to you when I had the 350. When first saturday was at the bookstore. You had mentioned something about a last minute swap, like you ordered one, then picked up another slightly different spec. IDK. Could very well be making that up.

If was ever at an event where Widmann or Barnes was taking questions, I would have asked this. I honestly am surprised Stangmode or some of these others guys with that kind of access haven't asked.

Woody Anderson had a MT one like mine on the floor but I wanted an AT so they did a swap with a dealer in TN to get my car.

AH. Gotcha. Don't ask me what I had for lunch yesterday. I won't remember that

When the 24's hit the street, I wonder how long before some tries to make the dual intake work on a Mach 1
