I've done cams and manifold since the last build. I thought hard about re-dynoing the cams before I put the manifold on for science but dyno $$ and time don't allow. I'm going to get the combo done and racing.

This dyno will be the Holley/Bullitt TB + Comp cams & valvetrain /electric water pump/little freer exhaust vs. Previous FBO on ethanol that was about 475rwhp.
You won't know if the intake manifold did anything for you!

I don't think that's the case. If the fuel system wasn't involved I would have A-B'd this on the dyno tomorrow. But since it's no that simple, I don't have the time and money to step this.

There's enough data out there showing the 2018/ported manifolds drop off power 7500+, even with cams. If I carry peak power to 8300, I will discern this is CJ/Ported CJ like profile & power. Validating Mark. Gearhart's engine dyno report.

I see what you are saying and understand the time and cost. But assuming without direct comparison and using partial info to validate another person's findings wouldn't be an acceptable method of measure.

I believe the most beneficial A/B test would be the Holley vs. the Cobra Jet. That being said, any real world dyno with cams+ should be enough to see what this thing is capable of. I look forward to @deanm11 results so that I can dream of which hole I should throw my money down next.

Again, it’s widely known that 18manifolds don’t carry power very high and this has already been shown to compete with race ported CobraJets when using the same twin TB. Any downside/restriction this will have will revolve around the 87mm TB which is still well above 18 manifold range

Are you referring to the FB post with dyno sheet and nothing more?

Do I need to? Mark is as legit as it gets in the community and if you’re unfamiliar with his work you’ve been under a rock

You’re hung up on comparing it to the turd 18 manifold when really you should be more curious about further CJ comparisons

I'll go a bit further and say if you have to decide between the Holley and the factory '18 manifold stick with the factory unit. The drawbacks won't outweigh the benefits and gains will be very minimal.

I don't know who he is. I guess I've been under a rock. I haven't seen any testing outside of a few FB paragraphs and a dyno sheet.

So you have dynoed this manifold?

Nope, but it's clearly closer to the CJ by design and we're talking about a naturally aspirated motor that is highly efficient. There is little to be gained and a lot to lose. This will only appeal to people willing to make those trades. Not people on stock engines thinking about a manifold swap.

Thats why we test. I'm looking forward to his results.

So am I. I was just putting it into perspective with respect to a factory manifold. Looks like we mostly agree so you can go back to yelling at the neighborhood kids and kicking ugly dogs.
