CA noise laws arent crazy at 95db. That being said, just about every HOA, apartment, etc. have other noise restrictions (and thankfully so). Nobody wants to hear dogs barking all damn day because of lazy, incompetent, owners, nobody wants to hear your noisy Harley that is just making noise for the sake of noise, and nobody wants to listen to loud vehicles idling early (never mind the jackasses that let their loud vehicles to include diesels warm up for 10 minutes) in the morning or coming home late at night. It's just part of being a courteous neighbor.

But we're all supposed to be cool with kids screaming and running around all day. People who bitch about loud vehicles need to get a hobby, frankly.

Ok, I'll try it on my car, I have the HP Tuners software. There is a table that is references at start up and it commands a -10deg cold start timing. Supposed to be to help the cats heat up faster.

Will let you know after I've had a chance to try it.

I live in an apartment complex too. My setup is pretty loud, but when I do leave early in the mornings I'm in the truck most of the time. Besides the wastegate opening on cold start, it's fairly quite.

However, when i'm leaving early in the car, I crank and go. I let it warm up as i cruise to the gate. I haven't had any complaints yet.

Get over it? Glad you guys arent my neighbors. I have the SType and thankfully havent had any complaints about it but I genuinely feel bad when I leave in the morning. I'm going to add the resonator to quiet the car down. Just cant imagine having neighbors as inconsiderate as some of the comments here.

Honestly, some neighbors like to bitch about everything because they have nothing better to do all day. I have a Borla S-Type myself, and I don't really consider it to be excessively loud at cold start. Yes, it is loud, but you'd have to be a super light sleeper to be bothered by it. There's probably 100 other annoying things that would wake me up instead, like annoying dogs who wont shut the hell up.

That said, it's not much of an issue for me. I go to work in the afternoon, and when I return at 2 am, I keep the rpms low to not disturb anyone.

Now, if you had LT headers, that's a whole different story though...

I've been racing 1/8 nitro for over 20 years now. While it sucks finding a place to run, there is no way you cant consider them exceptionally noisy in a frequency range that is annoying to all but who are in the hobby.

As for the kids comment, they can be annoying but I expect parents to do their job. Much more tolerant of happy kids having fun and making noise than the ones that are throwing fits. I rarely complain about things but have had to get on some of the people next to us because of ridiculous amounts of noise at 2-4am a couple times. Ended up having to get the Police involved because they refused to answer the door and talk with me like damn adults. They ended up getting evicted for something unrelated about two months later thankfully.
