NASTY squeaking from rear suspension !!! Thoughts ?

fwiw I resolved my squeaking issue, I bit the bullet and just greased the delrin bushings like a madman with some purple shit from advanced ( high temp rtv ?? ).
there was definitely some sort of friction/rubbing going on because once I removed the lower part of the link I saw the markings from the mounting points.

Glad you fixed. Mine seems to be gone too. Silence for the whole weekend driving it.

hey guys i found out my creaking was my springs were not sitting right as well as the isolators got my shocks/struts/springs/new shock mounts re-installed and the creaking went away 80% then i got an alignment and it is 100% gone now

Glad you got it taken care of. That happens a lot, it's easy for it to move a little after installing springs as you're tightening it up. You have to go slow and keep checking it and shops don't like slow. Another reason I like to do those kind of things myself.

Mine went away for a few weeks. Silent. Warmer now and Usually after a longer drive (45mins) or so it comes back. Going to put my GoPro mic back there close to all the suspension components and drive it around and see if I can narrow it down.

Mine went away after a car wash oddly enough ... I don't do the under carriage spray so maybe water spray shot through the wheels? It's back now anyway. Finally got my rubber spring isolaters from Eibach so hope to install those between the coils that are touching this weekend.

Ok so mine has been squeaking daily everywhere. I've gotten used to it I make enough noise with the Corsa shifting at 5k all day long .

But an update : I went for an alignment and had the most experienced tech who knows his stuff get underneath. He used his stethoscope to pinpoint the noise while I stood on the edge of the trunk and bounced it up and down. Second tech went under and listed and said it's definitely there.

The squeak is coming from the inner Steeda adjustable camber arms mounting points. I did recently swap out from the early design to these. I think I put pics up here (I'll check the thread and add them if I didn't) but there was clearly wear on the bushings on the ones I removed. On the new ones I removed both pieces of the bushing (plastic ? Delrin?) and put a ton of the lube on the aluminum and on each piece and in the arms and on the outsides on reassembly. Seems it wasn't enough. Will take a look at my install pics I know I took some of that end I can't recall if the metal sleeve protrudes from the bushing or not (I believe the should so the bushing can rotate on the sleeve without being squished).

Grease fittings are a huge help and benefit on a camber link pivot point with a free floating inner sleeve/bushing design.

Another design characteristic that is a must in my opinion is a tapered outer bushing flange, that reduces the contact patch between the Delrin bushing and the Cradle Mounting point so that when the bushing rubs the metal housing, the surface area is little enough to minimize audible noise.

Did you make sure you lubed the inner sleeve as well. Lubing the out side of the delrin will not work. You have to lube all inner and outer surfaces of the delrin.
What type of lube did you use?

Happy to report that finally the nasty squeaking is completely gone ! :cheers:. Thanks to Steeda for working with me throughout I really do appreciate the support :cheers:. I was using a ton of lube everywhere. The newer Camber arms apparently didn't have the latest pin/delrin sleeves and the latest revisions have solved the issue. The old pin was not long enough to extend past the ends of the delrin sleeves when assembled. This led to the delrin being squished and the camber arm rotating them under compression leading to the squeaking once the grease was squished out.
With the new sleeves the pin extends out the ends and when installed the pin gets tightened down and the arms can rotaly very nicely and effortlessly. :clap2:


Now there is that creaking, almost clicking (creaking under tension I think best describes it) noise. I believe the squeaking overpowered that noise in the past but now its the last noise left. I took BMRs advice from their thread and got new axle nuts and did that today and no change. Will make a new thread for that :frusty:

I know this thread is kinda old, but I have SR Vertical links as well. Just installed this past weekend with Stance Coilovers in the rear. I thought maybe it was the coilovers making the squeak / creaking noise in the rear, but after looking through this, it seems like I'm gonna have to pull the vertical link out and grease it up. Ugh it was such a PITA to put in the first time though

Steeda why doesn't your rear upper camber arms with delrin bushing have grease fittings?

I had Evolution Performance in Pa diagnose my annoying creakin/ squeaking to your delrin bushing rear pass side. They removed nad lubed it and did an alignment.

Why don't you guys design it with a grease fitting?

Steeda can you send me the new design with the pin that extended out so when tightened the delrin bushing isn't squished causing the creaking and squeaking?

This nose is not only annoying but embarrassing when driving by people who hear it and just look at the car wondering WTF?

Ive got a bad creaking noise i get when i go over any irregularity in the road on the passenger side. Mods are
Bmr cb005
Bmr tca045 spherical
Bmr tr005 toe rods
Viking crusaders
Gforce halfshafts
Bmr bk005 lca
Bmr springs

I took the vertical link off and cleaned up the bearings and put some grease on them. I sprayed every joint down with lithium grease along with dropping the rear subframe to adjust the spring and the isolators. There was no change in the noise at all.

I then pulled the rear seats and had my wife sit in the back and she traced the noise next to the rubber top for access to the fuel tank on the passenger side. I got under the car and looked once again. So im completely lost on what to look at next.
