Those 17s they put on the base v6 are a sin
As a owner of the rims, I want to say I strongly agree. I don't even know if plasti-dipping them would take away the ugliness factor. I truly wanted the 401A package that comes with the nicely dark shadowed rims that are a little larger than the base V6's rims

... But both dealerships I went to said it wouldn't be something I could put on my car... I'd have to buy a whole entire new set of tires to have those kind of rims...

Thats a package that can be ordered on the V6, the 051A package. You could always find someone that selling those foundry wheels. They're really nice 18" wheels. Probably one of the best stock option wheels available for the mustang.

But if I have 17's, how would I be able to put those rims on it since they are 18" wheels? All the dealerships told me I couldn't get them on it.. :/

Yea you would need both the wheels and tires. If you get the GTPP style wheels from OE wheels and the Yokohama advan sport tires from tirerack I think you would come in at around $1,100 which is not bad at all

Nothing to it. Just slap 'em on.

Absolutely untrue. You cannot go smaller, but you can go bigger. Your 17"s won't clear my GT's brakes, and my 18"s won't clear the Brembos, but we both could run the PP wheels.

Here's a set of 18"s in the classifieds;

Pics taken by the Ford dealer when i was asked to bring my Ex S197 for a photo shoot, the Old and the New
And it was the day i fell in Love with the Shadow Black S550 in the Showroom.
Since then went back to a Lefty but the dealer wants me to bring her up, when I get her. hope you like

I just don't get why some people think they are entitled to two spaces. If you are that concerned or paranoid, leave it at home.

Nice pictures! I wish I could find another S550 in my area, but to date I appear to be the only one locally.
On the side track of this thread; I always park far away for both the car's sheet metal and a little exercise for me. Always have, nothing new for the Mustang. However, in the 1st week of ownership a fine upstanding citizen in an old pickup decided to park next to me, all the way at the end of the lot. So close to my door that I couldn't get into my car. (Yes, the truck wore a bow-tie and yes I could have gotten in the passenger side and climbed over the shifter.) I plotted all sorts of revenge that would just escalate until we ended up in jail, but then in what I consider proof of the divine, a flatbed driver coming out of the bagel joint next door was wearing a ford racing polo and approached me. I was upset, but he was pissed! So long story short; he towed the truck, I got in my car, moved a few islands away and waited for the ass hat to come out. He did not appear amused, but I found it hilarious. Two empty spaces where he and I were parked... the rapid head swivel and immediate flash of panic on his face. I have no idea if any of what happened was legal, or what happened to him and his truck, but the flatbed driver refused money saying it would be inappropriate and that the other guy will pay him.
If I ever see him out at the bar, I'll definitely buy him a beer!
Exactly as should be & same with taking two or three spots!

I even parked the same way as he/she did and took up two parking spaces! :ford:
Just because someone else is being an asshole, does not mean you should as well. Just saying.

But nice ride.
