I have a 2020 PP2 with magneride and to tell you the truth when driving on city streets the difference between normal, sport, and track is not that big to me. The difference is felt when you start pushing it through corners.

My wife can tell the difference. She prefers Normal when we're just driving along, but when it gets twisty, she wants me to put it in Sport, as she'd rather the car lean less in the corners (bad hip) than be smoother over the bumps.

Mine doesn't ride harsh. It's quite smooth in normal mode. Smoother than a non magneride car. Sport and track are a stiffer ride, as they should be. IMO Magneride makes for a better daily driver. When it's time for a spirted ride just toggle the switch. Road gets rough, toggle back to normal mode.
Just note the question wasn't about stock Magneride but Magneride handling pack - and as I wrote - it's harsher because it has to be, doesn't mean harsh.

Ok, I'll bite. What's FRPP? Is it Ford Performance Mustang Magneride Handling Pack? Do I need it I do mostly cruising (sometimes for a long time/bad roads) and never track?
There's never a need to mod. However, if you decide you like to drive in sport and feel you need a little more in the handling department, then it's a solid choice.

Does the ride get harsh or does it maintain a smooth ride.
I did a comparison of before and after with just the magneride recalibration that comes with this package. My driving was basically an hour commute to and from work which included half highway, half city driving which had some crappy bumpy roads. Normal was pretty solid. Sport was stiff for the sake of being stiff. The car felt solid, but overly stiff. My back would ache after a drive which is why i decided to look for a revised tune. After I bought and installed this tune, the car was noticeably smoother. In sport mode, the car hugged the road and felt smoother, instead of harsher on some of the bumpy roads. I got some feedback from a buddy who asked if I changed the suspension because it was smoother. After driving it like that for a week, I installed the ford performance springs and sway bars and my thought here is the tune softens the suspension for a ride that really hugs the road and lets the stiffer springs and sways fight the body roll. Track mode is more or less the same. A stiffer, but very smooth ride. I'm more than happy with this purchase. If the wheel gap wasn't so bad, I would have just installed the tune and be done with it. But I really have no complaints with the setup.

Sounds like gismo4 has a PP1 and installed the Ford Performance Magnaride tune first, and then added the springs and sway bars.
If you were ordering the FRPP kit for a PP2 or GT 350, you would not need the tune, but the kit will lower the suspension by 20mm, and is stiffer than the PP2 and 350 springs and sways. At least that's what the Ford Performance site says.
Now, is Magnaride worth it? Not if you are building a purpose built car, like a track car. You can probably build a better performing car for the track, but you wouldn't want to daily drive it (at least not at my age). If you want a daily driver, cruiser, spirited driving, track, jack of all trades car, then yeah, Magnaride is worth it.

Thanks. Yeah, I probably should have used another word instead of "need." That was figurative. What I meant was "would I want this?" or "will I feel the difference, and would it be positive?"

So far, we're not driving in sports mode, mostly in normal. But I'm still curious and willing to give this package a try.

Just to be clear—are we both talking about the "Ford Performance Mustang Magneride Handling Pack"? Or some other package? If yes, I'm getting hard times understanding how "FRPP" acronym translates to it.

The ford performance magneride handling pack comes with a software upgrade (or tune) for the magneride system.

The MagneRide Handling Pack includes:

M-5300-W Spring Kit
M-5490-G Sway Bar Kit
MagneRide Performance Pack VDM Software Upgrade

Yes, it's the ford performance magneride handling pack. The springs are specific to mustangs with magneride and the VDM update is for the PP1 only. FRPP is Ford Racing performance parts.

Who uploaded the tune for you? Was it the dealer or something you did yourself and if so what did you use to upload it.

thanks

Can anyone here with magneride confirm this? When you select sport or track drive mode, you cannot change steering wheel mode.
Ex: Drive mode: Sport, you cannot change steering to normal or comfort.
I know non-magneride mustang can change steering mode independently.
Thank you! I thought there was an issue with my car, my previous non MR car allowed the change.

I did it myself. There's an app from ford performance I installed on my laptop, connected the module that comes with this kit, followed the instructions, and updated the software. It's pretty straight forward.

I drove a pp1 with and without magneride before making my decision. I only got about 30 minutes, but I took some routes that had some bumps and curves and I felt non magneride took longer to "settle" after hitting a bump whereas magneride seemed to smooth out quicker. It's hard to describe, but I would suggest to drive both if you can and plan some paths ahead of time to be able to really get a feel.
