  1. BBQ tick :(

As I mentioned in another thread oil cavitating can cause a metal tick in other application. Changing viscosity can decrease cavitation.
  2. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

Any one ever thought about the oil cavitating???? In other applications cavitation can cause a metal clicking sound. Changing viscosity can eliminate cavitating in other applications

How did you disable the oil bypass and did it throw any lights on the dash??

An easy way to tell if that were the case would be to disable/disconnect the oil pressure bypass that lowers oil pressure at low RPM.

As with my Mustang and F150, same as daily starting. The needle moves instantly. I don't see how not filling will cause any damage. On my plane and most out there the oil filter is pretty much empty on every start, hasn't hurt any of them yet.

There is a reason NOT to prefill your filter. If contaminants like dirt etc. get poured into the filter it will go directly through the engine without being filtered. Many recommend against this practice.
  7. Dealer describes "Piston Slap" as a "Normal" characteristic of the 5.0 V8

I had piston slap many years ago and ford replaced the engine. Believe me you will know when you have piston slap it is nothing like the 2K rattle. Intensity increases with RPM and is VERY loud when cold, warmed up not too bad.

I have the exact sound coming from the transmission area. It just started after 10,000 miles, it seems to be only or worse in 4th at lower speeds and goes away when warmed up. I will wait to take it in until it’s really loud so Ford can’t say that’s normal.
  9. Potentially moving...how strict are the laws really?

    Brain Fart LOL
  10. Potentially moving...how strict are the laws really?

Komnifornia has become really screwed up over the years, the in-bread population bases in LA, SF and other coastal areas control the whole state and are so far left/socialistic it is deplorable. Well maybe not all the people but the majority...... I've lived here all my life and it is no longer...
  11. Please help - car pulls right on acceleration and left at lift-off

Didn't the OP say it when away when they rotated the tires???? If that is so it is pointing directly at the tires and nothing else. " The key thing to me is that the issue was solved by rotating tires - so I'm at a loss why any of the above items would be resolved by rotating tires."
  12. 2015-2017 S550 Coyote 5.0 Ownership input

2016 111,000 miles No typewriter tick, doesn't burn oil. Have not fixed one thing, Never babied. Only tires, brakes and fluid changes. My 2020 PP2 burns a little oil and has more engine noise but nothing out of the ordinary, only 5000 miles on her.

I don't have the type writer tick but if I keep the rpms around 2000 and gently add then decrease throttle I can make an injector sounding noise come and go. I am guessing it maybe the direct injection coming in and out or those little flappers in the intake rattling around.
  14. The Life of Daily Driving a 5.0

I will goose the throttle a few times, smile and wave:)
  15. So I tried Ceratec..

Glad I don't live in the UK with those friendly dealers
