Oh boy! This has turned into another transmission thread.
friend of mine is kinda like me, an old codger. He's on his 3rd Mustang GT with the A10. He had a 2019, his wife's 2021, and his new 2024. I asked him about the A10, and if he has had any issues with any of them. So far he has been very happy with with all of his A10's.
I’m curious how he drives his A10’s
D mode all the time or uses S mode?
Does he cruise around slow like some older guys do, never really hitting the gas?
We shouldn’t make this a tranny thread but it’s good info for OP maybe… šŸ˜

Itā€˜s possible you missed my point.

They aren’t all undriveable. Not by a long shot. That’s like waving someone off buying a GT350 because ā€œthey all blow upā€.

I do however completely agree with your comment that ā€œthe non-HP makes more sense for most.ā€ That’s fair.
Not THAT again. The world has already proven an M1 is an M1 big tire or little tire you pick…There is ABSOLUTELY no difference between them that isn’t bolt on, so unless the topic of conversation is wheels and tires and big spoiler or little spoiler there is no conversation. Now go throw on the std. M1 wheels for the winter and do as I did and keep a set of HP wheels and spoilers in the attic for a track day that may never actually happen. šŸ™‚

I had mine for 2 years before swapping over to a different platform. I definitely do not think the car is to much at all as long as you aren't trying to power through or out of a corner to early.

Power and torque feel good but I was always wanting a little more out of the car personally. By no means am I saying the car was slow though. Loved it, loved the drivability and comfort and loved the sound.

Get it.

No, it just feels that way because it’s a lot tighter inside, which gives a more cockpit experience. They spend a lot of money to research customer perception. My neighbor has one.

It is a totally different animal. It definitely puts more power down and you can feel it for sure.

Unfortunately I never did go and use my free track day and really regretted that so I can't say how much different the car feels on track but the Supra handling is amazing.

As far as your actual question and your quotes on it, I still wouldn't mind more power which I will probably do something at some point to this but won't be till further down the road. I like to save what/when I can as far as money and have the 10yr warranty on the car so I don't plan on tuning it for now.

The 36mpg on the hwy definitely is nice compared to the 25-26 in the mustang when I'm just cruising though

? -Meaning the low end torque?

It makes considerably less HP and torque than the Coyote, but certainly applies that torque sooner, as to be expected from a Turbocharged inline 6.

And yeah, the MACH1 Track Attack was awesome

Those numbers you're referring to that the factory is saying it has I found out two things. Those number ratings are underrated as the car is pushing approx 400ft/lbs AT the wheel and about 380ish hp to the wheel as well.

Not sure if it's a domestic thing or if Toyota just does it different. All their specs are rated at the wheel and not the crank. Peak torque is around 1800rpms and it starts to scream so about 1800-6500 or so it is at peak torque the whole time.

Also forgot to mention, the 400 lbs shed between the two cars also obviously makes a decent difference as well. Definitely miss the bit of extra room with the back seats and trunk size for hauling stuff

Eventually I would honestly really like to get another Mustang, however, I think it's got to be a GT500 or something in that realm of car with forced induction.

Unfortunately, after experiencing my buddies and obviously prior to be swapping cars, as soon as I drove the Supra it most certainly felt like it had more power for sure. As far as handling goes, I can't imagine the Mach 1 had much better handling if at all but I didn't really have a true opportunity to drive the car in that manner as I hadn't gone to any autocross events nor did my track attack with my vehicle purchase :frown:

By no means did I hate my Mach 1. I'd wanted a mustang since before I could drive and I loved every minute I had the car. My original intent was to keep it essentially forever. Dark forces swayed me heavily after driving the other car. I certainly miss the car and most of all miss the amazing symphony of the coyote matched with the exhaust on that car with the x-pipe. I've still not heard a car that sounded better than that thing

So, you're driving around town already dead? 😁
I don't drive in the towns or on highways much, that's boring. I'm genuinely happy with the A10, for me it works fine, even on the track. S mode is fine or I help it with paddles if need be. Each to his own.
