I have my PP2 and love it. Debated on a GT350 and decided PP2. The deal was TOO good last year.. I am hesitant to drop 10k(let's say) in mods as I keep thinking the Mach 1 will be IT OR picking up a 2019-2020 GT350. And that 10k would be nice as an additional down payment. And to add on a GT350 OR Mach 1 I would not do much mod wise to those. Maybe wheels and a couple other small things. Hmmmm.. If it was you???

So you picked a PP2 over a GT350, and now you want a GT350 or Mach 1?

You realize no one knows if the Mach 1 will be any good; how it will differ from a PP2? As they raised the price of a PP(1), it might just be a name change to get more money for the poorly named PP2.

But if your one of those people who wants a new car every year or two, modifying is a good plan ONLY if it satisfies your desire for something new. Because modified cars are big money losers at trade in time.

Most likely the Mach 1 will be a renamed bullitt in a different color, different wheels, and a facelift. The biggest ? is will it have PP1 or PP2 size wheels and what tires it gets.

Also will the facelift be a Mach 1 exclusive or will it be common across the board on all 21 mustangs.

That's why I got a 300a 2017 GT. It's like Burger KIng.. have it your way. If I want a Mach 1 looks, done. BOSS power, done. PP1/PP2 handling, done. Can do it at a third of the cost of those packages.

Some may want the better stuff but are not capable physically to mod the car or lack skills to, or just plain would rather have it factory installed.

How are you going to feel when the 7th gen comes around in 2022? The Mach 1 will be "IT" for a brief period (All glory is fleeting). It's your money - do as you please - ask the friendly salesman at your local Ford dealer - he'll give you excellent advice.

Thanks for the replies. I did not choose the PP2 over the GT350 per say but at 9-10k off sticker it was a deal I could not say no to. I love my PP2 and I typically keep my cars a while.. But where I made a "mistake" is I knew I REALLY wanted the GT350 and considering the potential money I willing to put into the PP2 I can't help that voice that says "Just sit on that money and wait a few months". Which I will probably do. Then see what the Mach 1 has to offer and or decide a GT350 is calling me OR modify mine as I see fit. I go back and forth fence sitting right now. Lol. I do like as mentioned above for it to be to my liking from the factory save for just some minor changes. I do like having(not sure why) a more rare unique car which the PP2 actually does fit the bill. I have seen 1 other one in my area but you get the idea. Another thing is I LOVE/HATE black cars. I love it when it's clean for 7 minutes and then dirty almost instantly. Might sound stupid but it bugs me a bit. There are more pros cons to the whole relate in my head and will add more as they come to my head. Keep the comments/slams/advice coming. Lol

I can recall only once in my life that I regretted not buying a car. But, the list of cars I bought and shouldn't have is long. Wait and see. You have nothing to lose.

Get a gt350, the better car and will holds it value better. TBH, unless you got the PP2 for an extremely good deal that's what you should have done in the first place.

Depends what you really want. I would love a GT350, but if you put a few bucks into a GT, you can come close to everything but the exhaust note. If you're not really tracking it, and just modifying it for the sake of modifying it, you'd be likely hurting your GT350's resale value, and you would have to return the GT back to stock and try your luck selling your mods. I think the Bullitt's resale value is probably closer to the GT than the GT350, and the Mach1 would probably do the same, similar to the 04 Mach1 vs the 04 Cobra.

The PP2 is a basically a GT with a wheel and tire package. Not what I'd call unique.

exactly what kind of mods are you planning to blow 10k on? Do all the Steeda/BMR chassis fixes. That'll run you in the vicinity of $800 in parts and 1500 in labor. About the only thing left to do is get the 3rd party Magneride controller.

Generally speaking on mods some forged lightweight wheels, Steeda brakes, CFDS, GT350R springs, some chassis mods, possibly rear seat removal, E85 tune. Already have Roush x pipe, intake and tune combo. Basically as you can see a bit more power and dropping 75-100 pounds(without removing creature comforts. There are some other things as well. I said 10k as a rough number but could be 12k or 9k or whatever. If I decided to get a GT350 or Mach 1 I would do almost nothing to the car save for forged wheels and maybe drop it a hair... Basically keep it very close to stock. There really is no right answer just different directions with pros and cons to both. I DO though kick myself a bit as in 2003 I bought a GT for a great deal although the Mach 1 was what I REALLY wanted. None the less I enjoyed the GT.. Same sitch now with the 350 and the Mach or make the GT my own flavor of what I want. And the money part of "You could make X car WAY FASTER and handle better for cheaper" is not the point. As they say you could go get a nice foxbody for 10k and drop 40k into it and smoke anything. It does not mean that is the best solution although maybe for some. The wife and I are looking into some track events in the future as well. I DD my cars as well. And DD meaning 12k plus miles a year. I buy them to drive them if that changes opinions. Thanks!

Save your money until the Mach 1 comes out. If you like it more than what you currently have, then buy it. If not, mod it. Sounds to me though that what you really want is a GT350, in which case the Mach 1 or your current car most likely won't do it for you.
