I Crack them loose (Gorilla lugs) with an extended handle 1/2 ratchet with a cheater pipe on the end of that, then spin them off with the impact using a nylon sleeved socket for wheels I got at HFT, no fear of dinging the black PP1 rims. I reinstall by hand with the same socket and torque to 150 in/lb. A bit more work, but my wheels are spiffy new lookin'.

Gorilla makes chrome ones.. But black would be good too..

I went with black, very stealthy :)

The black lugs looks great. I wish my wheels had a darker or titanium finish.

I am a huge fan of the HP Mach 1 wheels. The satin finish is nice too, doesn't show brake dust quite as bad :) But they are a BEAST to keep clean...

When I asked It was recommended to me to torque my Velgen wheels to 110 Ft.lbs I haven't received them yet and I'm on the fence on what I should actually torque them to. I will also be using Gorilla lugs

The PP1 stock rims are cast aluminum, albeit heavy. Factory manual says torque to 150ft#, why would you do 100ft#?!?!? I don't care who the manufacturer is, torque to spec.
Maybe the hub flange is paper thin and has cracked while testing at the wheel manufacturer using Fords recommended torque specs, their solution, reduce the spec. Just playing devils advocate here.

When you bolt the same wheels on the previous generation car it's only 100ft lbs

they won't fall off

Where do you get this information? Every thread on this topic says 150, except certain wheel manufacturers. We're talking S550, not previous generation right?

S650 is a S550 for "all intensive purposes'

Previous gen is S197 which was 100 lb/ft

The stud is larger diameter so they can use 150 lb/ft

But the wheel won't fall off if you use 100

Maybe it won't, maybe it will, it's under torqued @ 100 per Ford for the S550. Do you think they pulled that number out of their behinds? One lug under-torqued, or even 2 or 4 would be ok perhaps, uneven torque is not ideal either.
