When did the Procharger kits fall out of favor? I have the HO kit on one of my Mustangs and it was an easy install. Drivability is great and the power after 3500 RPM is a blast.
because…
looks like the ESS kit is a couple of thousand less than the ProCharger HO Kit.
…of that!

Yes, I think you're correct. So does the procharger not require aftermarket tuning?
they all require tuning; be it, canned tune or custom 😉

Procharger is a very well established kit that can make a stoopid amount of horsepower. WAY more than any ESS kit.

So it didn't fallout of favor, except to the sheep who follow yolo douchebag .

Pro charger is notorious for killing crank snouts that is why the have fallen out of favor.
Do they ? Interesting. I bet my bottom dollar it's from incorrect installation practices. especially when it comes to adding the crank pulley, not checking the deflection on the slack side of the belt, etc., etc. Too tight of a belt is a guaranteed crank killer.

Prochargers can only be advertised at certain prices because they sold by dealers not direct. Beefcake has said it 100 times before, he can beat the cost of an ess on a comparable procharger kit. Has any one actually hit him up and tried on one?

I might have to check with Beefcake about beating the cost of the ESS. By all accounts so far the ESS seems to be cheaper, but not by that much, but perhaps enough to tilt my decision. I also have to take into account the cost of installation of the kit.

I went the ESS route on my Bullitt, G3X, G4 Intercooler, 125 pully, GT500 injectors and Wengerd 93 octane tune but since I don't have local access to a dyno I have no way of knowing how much hp it is putting on the ground, but it is more than enough to cook off the 315 Cup2s out back in any of the 3 lower gears (with TC off)...well worth the $$$ to me.

Looks like ESS has refurbished G2 kit for $4K and change. Then I have to pay to get it installed, the tune, and I don't know if I need injectors and fuel system. but by my calculations it would end up being close to $7000 all in.
