Ok. So just to make sure i drove around again, and now it’s completely stable at 14v. Looks like Demonic is right on point. 1 week of not driving must’ve drained battery enought to cause low voltage protection mode. Thanks for sharing info.

That's funny, mine sat for over a week with no issues. I charged mine to 100% before install, so maybe that was the difference. Buy the battery charger/maintainer.

Soooooo...there's quite a bit of rather deep technical discussions in this thread on voltage, amp hours, and all sorts of things that I am willing to admit I got lost on. Can we discuss this battery in layman's terms?! Cover the pro's and con's? Why to get one? Why not to get one? Things like that? Just thinking for when battery replacement time comes.

Simple.

1.Buy battery, mount, SAE terminal adapters, and lithium charger.

2. Open box when delivered and charge battery to 100%.

3. Install SAE terminal adapters and mount, and install into car. (See my review thread)

4. Enjoy.

If you want max weight reduction, get the ATX-20-HD. Need more power, get the ATX-30-HD. I got the 20 battery. I had it running on acc power for up to 30 mins with no problems. If you want a bigger battery for more power, then get the 30.

Me? I'd just use a regular lead acid battery for every day use. I bought the lithium to reduce weight for the track. For that purpose, it doesnt get much better. It is perfect for that task. If weight reduction for street use is what you are after, the antigravity ATX 20 AND 30 is fine. The 20 is smaller and lighter, but has less of a power reserve for use (like stero system, subwoofer, etc).

The mount should be in stock at Antigravity by now. I fabricated a simple adapter made out of plastic to attach the mount to that fits in the cleat of the OEM battery tray. I did a post on it here on this forum. Get the Ctek lithium battery charger/maintainer from Antigravity as well.

are you folks going to make the adapter to work with the OEM battery tray? A lot of people probably don't want to fabricate it on their own.

That is the plan, I think Scott touched on it earlier or in another thread but it will still be a little bit before it's fabbed and ready.

So then the (only) down side is the $cost$, and maybe some cold weather concerns?

Jon,

I don't know what your intent is or what you are trying to do. If I didn't need to lighten my car, I probably wouldn't spend the extra money. As was mentioned, reducing weight in a vehicle is very expensive, especially when you start getting into replacing body panels or major components of the car. This is the least expensive, most bang for your buck loss of weight. I plan to get a carbon fiber hood for the new 500. That's going to set me back about $1500 plus the paint or clear coat for a weight reduction of about 30 or 40 pounds. Carbon fiber wheels are 5K each for a savings of what? 40 pounds? Fully forges wheels? $5,000 saving 30 pounds? Carbon fiber drive shaft? 10 pounds? I think you get it.

If you are not after weight savings for the purpose of performance, I wouldn't mess with it if I had any concern about stupid low temps or longevity. If you are after an easy 25 pound weight reduction at a very reasonable price compared to the above mods, then yes, it is worth it because it is cheap and easy.

I'm somewhere in the middle and just thinking ahead to battery replacement time, for when that day comes. This is not an item I personally would seek out just to perform a mod, but when the day comes it needs a new battery, I wouldn't mind the cost for the weight reduction. That's where I'm at. Just asking the questions while the topic is in the forefront.

Gotcha. I consider you a friend and I would not steer you wrong. I bought one and I would recommend it to you without a doubt. Just understand what you are buying. I have no idea what the longevity will be like and my experience with the product is over a track weekend. Under those circumstances, it performed flawlessly and it did exactly what I wanted it to do.... loose an easy (about) 25# of weight for track purposes.

The folks over at antigravity did not give me anything up front. I purchased the battery, charger, and SAE terminals. At the time, the mount was not available and he only had the prototype available. I asked to borrow it and he agreed. For that kind gesture, I offered to write this review and give my honest opinion of the product, no matter whether it was good or bad. I did exactly that. Also, I don't have any interest in the company (meaning I don't receive any form of money or compensation). My experience with this battery and mount are 100% honest and accurate for the purpose I purchased it. If you want to reduce the weight of your car, this is one of the easiest ways to do it. It is more expensive than a lead acid battery, but we are talking an easy shed of about 25 pounds. That's a lot.

I reached out to Scott to try to return the mount and purchase a production model. He told me to keep it. What a nice guy. Over the Thanksgiving black Friday sales event, Antigravity had a huge sale. I (jokingly) made some comment about how I missed out on the sale price. Without batting an eye, he agreed to refund the difference. Of course I refused because I don't roll that way. A sale is a sale and the point of all of this is that the folks over at Antigravity deliver an excellent product and great customer service. Many are skeptical of the lithium technology most likely due to the re-start technology batteries that didn't play nice with our GT350 electrical systems. That issue has been resolved and the ATX20 and 30 HD batteries have been designed to work with our mustangs.

So at the end of the day, it really comes down to what you are trying to do and is it worth the extra money.

If I can help any more, please let me know.
