South Carolina might be a bit too hot and sunny to enjoy a convertible.
I’ve owned two and won’t buy another. Besides maintenance issues and never being able to leave valuables in your car (always kept them unlocked in fear of getting the roof slashed), it’s too damn hot in the summer. Late fall and early spring was about the only times I enjoyed it.

Get the PP with Auto.

Then you can always add black vinyl to the roof for a cheap, fast & removal "black appearance" package. While you're at it, wrap the mirrors and your car will look more GT350 like.

Oh yeah, and while you're at that... order the GT350 steering wheel, the soft velvety feel of alcantara is so much nicer!!

I didn't get PP. Getting 19x10 forgestar wheels and continental extremecontact sports, BMR springs, jacking rails, and FRPP STB instead.

... and the spare tire kit.

So, my understanding is the convertible comes with the enhanced security package which is supposed to help with these issues (console locks, etc). And the seats do not fold down so you can put valuables in the trunk.

My problem is I really like to be able to drop the top...not something you can do other than on a vert.

The center console lock will keep people honest (I have it too), but is not the most secure lock. It helps at least.

I'm with ya though, I did love dropping the top...the summer heat was just too hot for me.

It does and keep in mind tearing through the top will take longer than breaking a window.

Hope you're planning on some new shocks too because a lot of their springs were based around PP shocks or aftermarket ones.

The minimum drop springs aren't, but probably going to get Konis later in the year.

If they do wear quite a bit better, it would be great for all us PP owners.

I can't wait to hear about tire wear with those tires.
I've got PSS and after 10k miles I still am over 1/2 way to wear bars.

Does the enhanced security package have motion sensing inside the vehicle to trip the alarm if someone does cut the top or break window?

Does it require the fob to unlock/disarm so if anyone does cut the top/break window they can't just hit the unlock button on the door?

Thanks for the reply guys. I appreciate the input, I will be looking for the PP and will test drive with and without MR.

Like someone said, I probably will have buyers remorse if I don’t get it.

Thanks again! :)

My opinion is if you aren't going to drive it much and you aren't going to take it to the track, buy the cheapest version that will make you happy.

TRUE, but I’m an millenial, so digital cluster is a must. That was one of the reasons I didn’t bought the 2017. With that alone and 10A is around 43-45k, might as well go big. :headbang:

If I could have a base model with 401A and PP it would be ideal.

I will throw my 2 cents in as well because I wrestled with the same choice. I ordered a Vert without the PP. First off I think it is a good value for all of the upgrades. I wanted the magnaride, 19" wheels and brake upgrade. (no magnaride without the PP) The decision came down to the tires for me. As a DD I need something other than summer only tires. The non square setup and summer onlys did not work for me so I ordered the black package to get the wheels. YMMV
