My question is why would you want to do more to the car?
Are you planning on tracking or racing it? Or just a fun recreational car to drive in your leisure? If it's to be a fun, around town car do you really need another hundred or two HP? Or do you just want a project, something to tinker with?
I think that whatever decision you make going forward should be based on what you want from the car, whatever that might be.
Just a fun recreational car that I can tinker with. That's why I posed the question here, wanted to get others thoughts. I want more power, just not sure if I want to go FI route given the age, or if the +18 intake and E85 may be enough.

ecoboost people will never understand it lol

eventually in the future, i wanna go F/I just for the fun of doing it, with the IM and e85, the car goes, if you are not actually racing at the track or daily driving it, i don't think you will say "i need more power right now" i barely find places where to floor it because you get jail time speed in no time.

but yeah, at some point, 450 whp will be boring and you will want 650 whp.... after a while at 650, you will want 800.... it's never enough

All opinions are welcome.
Most Mustang guys are mod-happy, and think that they can do better than the factory engineers. That may be, but it's a slippery slope.

Here's my opinion:

Leave the car alone. Buy a helmet, get the brake fluid flushed and start doing some HPDE (High Performance Drive Events, AKA Driving Schools, AKA track event) with clubs (BMW, Porsche, Mustang, etc.) that have in-car instruction as well as class instruction. Now, many clubs are limiting in-car d/t Covid, but I think that's going to start changing back.

A typical weekend at a decent racetrack is going to run around $400, plus consumables (gas, etc.) plus track insurance if you decide to get coverage and you will experience advanced tire wear. If you continue to do these, you'll likely need to upgrade your brake pads and maybe your tires (depending on what you've already got there). You will, however, have a great time, you will enjoy the car and you will become a better (and faster) driver.

And it's not as tough on the car as drag racing or even autocross (mile per mile).

I went with PBD

i wanted a flextune, but no flex from pbd on 15-17 cars for some reason, so i went with 2 separate tunes... lund was almost double the price... both are pretty good
You can get a Flex Tune from PBD for the 15-17 cars. I have one from them on my 17. For some reason its not listed on there website, but Trevor did mine awesomely. Great guys to deal with and very patient. The cost was the same as the 18 and newer cars.

My thought was if I'm going to do option 2, option 3 is only 4-5 hundred more. The injectors are already out, so why not put the bigger ones in. I bought my injectors new from Summit and got them for around 270. The rest of it all depends on how much Lund charges to change your current tune. PBD was $200 hundred for a flex tune. I run the flex tune because the car is my DD and I didn't want to worry about having to drain the tank every time I wanted to switch back and forth. I live in Michigan and don't want to burn 85 in the winter months.

I agree with what the others above are saying about E85. Its only worth about 5-15 max power, but its delivered so much better.

I already had that conversation with another member, i sent emails, texted, called, etc etc and every single time, i had the same answer... no flex tune on 15-17 Gt, only +18.... I even had the guys from Lethal performance involved (great customer service btw) and nope.... idk, maybe because I'm Hispanic and they were racist lmao... but seriously, I contact them on multiple occasions, talked with different guys, the answer was always the same. The other forum member got a flex tune and he had a 17 i think.
