I bought them as actually one of my first mods. Its so nice to be able to just slap a jack under the middle of the car and jack up the whole side. Over my years or owning mustangs having the pinch weld all mangled up always sucked. Now I can jack it up with confidence that all will be well. For as much as ive done to my car at this point id say its money well spent.

They're an absolute must have mod. Jacking these cars up without them sucks.

Here's the deal:

If you are personally going to be climbing under the car often, they make a lot of sense. Saves from damaging your pinch welds.

If you don't jack the car often, value is greatly reduced.

Pro: Protection for your cars undercarriage if you (or incompetent and careless shops) are using jacks or lifts on the car.
Pro: Chassis stiffness/strength (although this may be a bit gimmicky)

Con: Cost
Con: Weight
Con: Doesn't run the entire length. While you can jack the entire car (both front and rear) off the ground sometimes I find the length limited and in conflict of where I want to post the jack stand..

Alternatives: jacking lift pads or puck style.

Pros: Less permanent weight added (zero if you don't have them in the car with you, but if you need to lift while on the side of the road, you'll probably want them with you)

I jack my car up a lot. So it's worth the extra weight and cost to have these and protect my under carriage.

Jacking rails are one of the very first thing I did to mine.
Are they necessary? No.
Do they give me piece of mind? Absolutely.

I can be pretty careful when I'm working on my car so I didn't feel they were a necessity (for me). That being said, I now feel comfortable jacking the car up anywhere along the installed rails. But the topper for me was when I brought my car to have new tires put on. I bring my cars to a shop I trust but even then, I watched as the guys slid a jack under the car and started jacking it up. At that moment, the jacking rails absolutely paid for themselves with the piece of mind I had knowing the car was protected.

A little extra chassis strength never hurts either!
