Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be sure to watch out for problems. I do always keep jack stands at hand when I use it and am never under the car until it is sitting on the stands. I never fully trust any jack.I just want to say be careful when using an impact on a factory scissors jack. That was how I was lifting my car up on all fours when I leave it for the summer and two of them stripped out the threads. One locked up and one collapsed. I kept the threads greased and it still happened. Maybe they are not meant to be used multiple times, or maybe the impact is just too much for it, I don't know.
That being said, I've used this jack for several years now on all my vehicles (all Ford) and my daughter’s Accord for tire rotation, wheel cleaning and brake work without a hint of trouble.
Even if it fails I'll probably just replace it with another. They're inexpensive and easy to find. Ford used the exact same jack in several different models. The Fusion and Edge for sure. You just have to watch and get the one with the hex and not the loop.
