I just want to say be careful when using an impact on a factory scissors jack. That was how I was lifting my car up on all fours when I leave it for the summer and two of them stripped out the threads. One locked up and one collapsed. I kept the threads greased and it still happened. Maybe they are not meant to be used multiple times, or maybe the impact is just too much for it, I don't know.
Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be sure to watch out for problems. I do always keep jack stands at hand when I use it and am never under the car until it is sitting on the stands. I never fully trust any jack.
That being said, I've used this jack for several years now on all my vehicles (all Ford) and my daughter’s Accord for tire rotation, wheel cleaning and brake work without a hint of trouble.
Even if it fails I'll probably just replace it with another. They're inexpensive and easy to find. Ford used the exact same jack in several different models. The Fusion and Edge for sure. You just have to watch and get the one with the hex and not the loop.

Glad to hear you do it safely. That is the most important thing as floor jacks can fail too. My scissors jacks failed after a few years, not right away.

Definitely leaning towards these, i’m going to have to try to source a supplier later when i get home (unless someone has a link of course! 🙏🏻)
In my experience, if you call BMR, they almost by default offer you a 5% discount code over the phone.

FWIW, I can get jack stands in the pinch weld areas with the Steeda full length rails as well. I have not tried the scissor jack with the jacking rails as I have a floor jack. But I too have the Ford spare tire kit (ordered it when I ordered the car, they can keep that tire sealant/inflator crap).

I have the BMR jacking rails and absolutely love that i can jack the car up without worrying about damaging pinch welds. As for the scissor jack, i wouldnt trust those ever... ive seen many crumple even when loaded/used properly.

After jacking the car though i am able to put my jack stands on the pinch welds that are not blocked by the jacking rail. At these points you could still use a scissor jack.

The added benefit of stiffening my frame also helps.

Put mine on (Steeda full length rails) the first week I had mine. I do love them, does make lifting the whole side of the car much easier. Makes jack placment a breeze (floor jack). I did opt for the Automotive Authority spare kit, but I did not opt for the jack. I just carry a compact floor jack I have had for many years, a 4 way lug wrench, and I carry my 18 Volt Ryobi impact too :). I try to always be prepared :)

Hey, the small floor jack and spare only, cost effective best of both worlds! The spare kit isn’t exactly cheap…..BTDT

Truth :) I just used what I had :). I much prefer a floor jack, those scissor things are not the best :)

Definitely not. But i tell ya, they are way more stable then the good old bumper jack that came with my ‘73 Camaro. Everyone should have had the pleasure of trying that at keast once! 👀

My first car as a teenager was a 66 Thunderbird. That thing was a TANK and heavy. And it had a bumper jack. No thank you :)

Ahhhh, so you know EXACTLY what i’m taking about haha. Those things were outright terrifying. Said Camaro fell over to the side one time. Thankfully in the grass. Which i’m sure was half the reason 🤪

Do you think you will add more Steeda suspension parts?.. go with Steeda.

Do you think you will add more BMR suspension parts?.. go with BMR.

I had BMR rails before I planned to mod my car more, ending up going with Steeda suspension stuff so I had to swap out my BMR rails for Steeda rails since they were not compatible with other parts. Both rails work fine, I believe you are over thinking it.

Overthinking it? I’ll say. I decided on the BMR set, and it took me a half hour to decide on red or black 😅 And yes, i know they typically make it so you can’t mix and match thier other components, and that also factored in. Been down that road back in my 4th gen Camaro days……full BMR everything, minus my UMI subframe connectors 🤗 Thanks for the insight though, i really do appreciate any and all opinions/suggestions 🍻
