Hello everyone! My name is Jim. I've been in the Mustang scene for almost 20 years now, and loved them since i was a kid. There is just something about a Mustang that you cannot explain, only feel. Its also great to finally find a Mustang forum that isnt centered around Facebook. I was a member of Corral for a long time and loved the community. I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time here. Hopefully it is as active as it looks!

As far as my history, I've had 4 Mustangs personally (1988 GT, 2001 GT, 2011 GT). And now my 2019 GT Performance Pack 1 in beautiful Kona Blue. I've known a lot of people who have done mild to wild builds, but these days i'm mostly about cruising and refinement. I got tired of the whole off-road ear bleeding exhaust, drivability that rivals a shopping cart, and no creature comforts. Its absolutely incredible to see how far Mustangs have come in even 10 years, where you can have a bone stock full weight car loaded with all the creature comforts that is running high 11s on a good pass. What more can you really ask for!

As far as my current Mustang, I traded in my 99k mile bolt on 6 speed 2011 GT that i bought used and stock with 67k miles 4 years ago. It was my daily driver, but i made the mistake of driving an S550 at work, and I was simply blown away at the difference between platforms. Braking, Acceleration, Cornering, Refinement, Tech.. the S550 had it all. And no disrespect to the S197, but i truly believe it is the last of the true 'muscle car' Mustang. It has some refinement, but deep down it still has that pedigree of being a 'Mustang". The S550s, are more of a sport-touring car now. The difference between interiors is simple mind-boggling. Dare i say it, but the latest S550s rival an M series in most aspects.

As far as the other mustangs, I bought a 2001 GT brand new out of high-school with money i had saved up.. but it was not a smart decision. Being 19 and not too financially secure - I found out it was more than i could afford and made the smart decision in returning it. I think i put 6,000 miles on it in the short time i had it.

After that, I bought the '88GT 5 speed for $5k in late 2001. It was bone-stock down to the air silencer with 75k miles on it. I drove that until 2009 when i was forced to part with it. It had a little over 120k on it at that point. It was a baby-bolt on car (ported E7 heads/intake, full exhaust, under drive pullies, 1.7 rockers...etc). It was a high 13 car at best - but being in my early 20s - it was fast to me.

After that, i disappeared from the Mustang scene for awhile, as the recession of '09 hit me hard. It wasn't until early 2016 that i bought my 2011 GT. Absolutely loved this car. It was my daily driver, mid 12 second car with bolt-ons and a great cruiser... I thought... Until i drove an S550 and it changed my world.

Bringing us to today.. 2 weeks ago Tuesday I picked up a 2019 GT performance pack 1 - Kona blue - 10R80 (my first auto.. i still cant believe i did it.. so far not regretting it!), It has every option aside from magna-ride (it took me a LONG time to find the options i wanted in this color.. and i had originally opted for the manual - but the first one i found was the auto - and having driven the auto - i was impressed with how well it performed.. so that is what i went with.)

Enough with the history.. i've typed too much already.. Anyway, here she is! I look forward to seeing you all around.

Just joined today, after using this site for info for a long time. NJ born and raised. Currently on my 4th Mustang but my first S550. Had 3 fox bodies in my younger years. This seems like a great community and I'm looking forward to being part of it.

Hello,

I'm CrowdControl_5.0 and I'm have been lurking around on this forum and learning a lot. It's been a great resource for me and I've decided to register and participate.

I come from the motorcycle world and have been into it for a long time, but I recently got injured (not motorcycle related) and my riding days are done. So, I now dump all my extra time and money into my car.

I have a 2017 GTPP and have done a few minor mods, and plan to do quite a bit more this spring or summer.

Cheers,

CC50

Hello everyone,

I'm Chris from Katy, TX and I just picked up my new 2019 Kona Blue GT Premium coupe yesterday. It has the 10R80, black accent package, 3.55 gears, active exhaust, and voice nav. I've been reading these forums selectively for a while now as I have been contemplating the move from my old Mustang to an S550.

This is my 3rd Mustang, my first being a silver 1999 V6. Next was a 2006 GT Premium (Roxanne) which spent a lot of time at the drag strip. It was a bolt-on, N/A 12.30 car in the 1/4.

Pictured below are Roxanne and the new one (yet to be named).

Greetings everyone,

Picked up this 2018 GT a week ago and just bought some new wheels and tires. First Mustang I’ve own. I love it. Love the active exhaust. It’s incredible, and I keep it in track mode all the time. Will use it a daily with 2 car seats in the back. . But we do own an F-150 so no issues I think.

Good Morning,

I am from Pennsylvania and in many years ago owned a 66 mustang convertible, and a 66 coupe. The convertible was Rangoon red with a 289, the coupe was a Wimbledon white K code.

Yesterday I took delivery of a brand new 2018 GT 350. I appreciate all of the great information provided in this forum.

2018 GT - Orange Fury, Recaros, Magneride
Another first time owner here. Picked up a 'new' 2018 GT in Orange Fury a couple of months ago. It's a manual with Recaros and Magneride.

Being Australian spec it seems to have most of the Premium pack and most of PP1.

Including Sync3, digital dash, large central screen, all the mood lighting, leather, along with Brembos, 19" wheels with Pilot Sport 4s, active exhaust etc. The main thing it doesn't have I think is the strut brace, and we don't get line lock over here.

I will get some better pics!

I'm Roy. Bought my first Mustang on May 26 1964 and still have it. I drove my 64 1/2 to the Mustang 50th anniversary gala in Las Vegas in April 2014 and fell in love with the look of the 2015. They had two of them to display, a white one and a Deep Impact Blue (DIB) for display. I fell in love with the DIB one. On the 17th Ford asked me to drive my 64 1/2 downtown to the New York New York Casino and display it along with the new 2015 model. Of course I did. I couldn't get one for myself until December 2015 when I found a DIB on on a car lot. Bought it right away. Enjoyed it but disliked getting in and out of it because the roof line was so low so sold it. Then in 2018 I bought a 2018 with the auto retracting drivers seat in Royal Crimson which matches my original 64 1/2. Now I am mostly jappy but sure wish I had got the Active Performance Exhaust so my old ears didn't suffer so much.

Definitely cool to see a true ‘original’ Mustang owner posting!

I just have to ask...

How many miles on the 64.5?

Has it been restored, or does the pic represent it’s excellent condition from your meticulous care of it all these years?

The upholstery has been replaced and it had a new paint job and rebuilt the engine twice but otherwise just well taken care of. It has just over 170000 miles on it.
