I know we’re veering off topic again, but in what way do you mean they are better? Because the build quality of the one’s I’ve seen and driven are absolute dog sh*tI think teslas are better cars than a majority of what people are driving.
Early years definitely had issues and there are still issues.I know we’re veering off topic again, but in what way do you mean they are better? Because the build quality of the one’s I’ve seen and driven are absolute dog sh*t
Fair enough and agreed on the loss of physical buttons. I like buttons and dials.Early years definitely had issues and there are still issues.
The 2018 Model 3 had some minor panel gap issues. The (I think) 2023 model y doesn't have any build quality issues that I have noticed.
There are design choices I don't like. I don't like how they are pushing minimalist design and removing physical buttons. My biggest complaint is actually the autopilot software and how restrictive the tesla insurance is.
Better is subjective but I would say I think teslas are a better value, perform better, and probably are more reliable. If you google tesla reliability its all over the place but from personal experience they have been our families most reliable vehicles. We have 50k miles on our model y in about a year and a half and maybe had one minor issue? The model 3 we put about 30k on in 2 years and the only problem I remember is a coolant hose leaking.
Even if you don't agree that they are better I think the hate is way over the top. You can not like the cars, but they are objectively not terrible cars.
Yes definitely lots of tesla owners that are full of their car. And I agree they do all look boring when you see 15 a day.Fair enough and agreed on the loss of physical buttons. I like buttons and dials.
My disdain for Tesla is primarily those that own them. There are a few people in my neighborhood that have Teslas (one guy has multiple) and they think they’re the hottest sh*t to walk the Earth. And they drive like it too. I also think their designs are boring. They all look the same save for the dumpster on 4 wheels. No creativity there at all IMO.
There’s a guy who lives around the corner that has a Rivian and his attitude is a complete 180 from the Tesla guys in the neighborhood. Not saying every Tesla owner is that way but there’s quite a few here.
it wouldn't be allowed because it doesn't comply with US regs. When the car is fitted to US Specs the price sky-rockets into domestic pricing territory. The tariff is just political masturbation. The BD sells for $10,700 USD in China and $25k in South America. If BD’s were exported to the States in large numbers
$1000 headlights you say?it wouldn't be allowed because it doesn't comply with US regs. When the car is fitted to US Specs the price sky-rockets into domestic pricing territory. The tariff is just political masturbation.
Yes we definitely need to have a convo about US "standards" and why they are making vehicle cost astronomical vs say what you pay in Brazil or Chile. Also the $1000 headlamp nonsense needs to stop right damn now.
Happened to me a week ago. He tried to make me run him from a stop. Then when I didn't respond he tried to run me from a roll onto the freeway. I declined again.I've been waiting for a Tesla to pick on me.
The main concern I think people should have with any actual Chinese EV is the quality control and poor design. There are lots and lots of YouTube/Tiktok videos of Chinese EVs turning into giant electric fireballs. For this reason alone, they should never ever be imported. The BYDs sold in China are heavily subsidized by the Chinese government. They wouldn’t be that cheap otherwise.
They are current state of the art. I don't hate them, but my opinion is they don't measure up to ICE vehicles for any purpose when all factors are considered. Hopefully some day improvements will be made, but until then I will stick with the more practical choice.I think Teslas are a solid daily driver car. Not slow, electricity is way cheaper than gas, good safety, good technology. I would definitely own a model s plaid as a daily driver if I could (I would turn the mustang full racecar haha).
I walk these clowns regularly from a 50+ roll in my 22gt premium with 3.55s and active exhaust. Of course exhaust in track modeThey will not all beat us! I played with a P85D last week getting on the highway and he was REALLY surprised that I walked him. I think a P100D and up would walk us(stock).
