I don't think this thing is all that bad. Once I put the MGW shifter, braided stainless clutchline, and Steeda assist spring, this thing shifts pretty good. My 1-2 and 2-1 shifts at slow speeds can be little pinbally, but everything else is pretty smooth going in and out of gear.
One of these days I'll put this exedy clutch in it.
It took me a while, but there is a certain finesse to move the shifter through the gears with a smooth action. It doesn't like being rammed into gear with a heavy hand. I also found it helps to roll the throttle off slower than you engage the clutch. If that makes sense? Allows the engine to spin a little higher while you move the shifter and let the clutch back out.
I spotted a used tremec 3160 from a mustang and was thinking about doing the swap. But what would I really notice?
