The 2016 Tech Pack is a Road Car only.. that was a big boo boo by Ford.
No Coolers...
But every other model of the 350 including the 2016 Track Package are designed to thrive and survive on a road coarse.
Wheel to Wheel Racing? No.. but "every day guy" track events absolutely.
I agree that these things should stay 100% stock.. the moment you try to tune it.. boost it...mess with the exhaust, headers, etc... you are just asking for trouble....
I'm not saying it can't be done, but your % of risk goes way up.
LOL, to 99%. I know just one guy who hasn't replaced his motor on his 350R after regular track use.

If I am really honest though, any regularly tracked motor is probably going to die a valiant death at high RPMs. Those that don't, will have rebuilds done before failures happen. So idk. All motors die eventually.

I am part of a group of guys at Road America that track regularly and I don't know of one guy who has had to replace their engine. I'm not saying it doesn't happen- I know of a guy in TN who does road rallies with his 350 (spirited driving- tail of the dragon, etc but no tracking) and he had to replace the engine.
I feel pretty comfortable tracking mine because I only do it 2-3 times a year and I am not out there just killing the engine at redline.
Most times it feels like the car is not even breaking a sweat. I know eventually things will wear out if I continue to track it. I agree with your last statement ....
I figure it's better to be going 100+ miles per hour on a track vs a sketchy country road or the hwy.
I know of a guy who runs with an exotic car group and they go out in some remote roads in WI and achieve triple digits. To me that is crazy.
I have an extended warranty which covers the engine replacement if necessary.
I know the risks with tracking a vehicle, but the rewards are great. It's been fun; a once in a lifetime experience for me.

Keshena to Highway 55 (West Brand Rd and Cty Hwy 101), and even 55 along Wolf River was my stomping grounds when I rode motorcycles and lived in Green Bay (I grew up in Wausau), absolutely fantastic drive/ride, especially when the leave start changing. This is already 15-18 years ago now, when pavement was new. I could see triple digits there, but agree with you 100%, a real bad spot to have an engine failure!

Hwy 55 from Keshena through the reservation is a blast! Its not in as good of condition as it was a while back, but its still fine. Lots of elevation changes and corners. The scenery in fall is beautiful.

I actually didn’t know that about the tech pack, is that every year with the tech pack or just the 2016? Reads to me like just the 2016.

Damn. I bet that plummets the value of the 2016’s with the tech package. Would completely remove it from my interest personally. Though I’d only be interested in a 2019 or 2020 anyhow for my own reasons.

All of the 2015's are pretty much collector items. I don't know if anyone who purchased a 2015 was going to track it.

Haha, it was likely my friend's 16 Competition Orange. He's on here but stays on the 350 forum mainly. Anyway, here are some pics. Yes, it has like 104k on it now, and he just had to weld up some cracks on the block near the trans but it runs good and he tracks it.
