Here’s a few Professional Internet Opinions, read at your own risk.
Confirms everything I ever thought about X-pipes.

He also brews up a wicked Alphabet Soup if you catch my drift.
Yep.
Here's the thing, X-pipes has he put's it, works OK with 'little 302 fords', but he really doesn't get into it much. I don't wanna put words into his mouth but I think it's because of all the little choke points (necking down) in the stock exhaust system, and the x=pipe alleviates some of that back pressure (whereas a H-pipe will not). Have a full 2.5" or 3" exhaust smooth bends, with zero neck downs coming off the factory header and that's when you'll see only a sound difference, and nothing by way of power gains. Just my uneducated redneck opinion.

Just for reference Joe was talking about Windsor motors.
I think the new 7000 RPM 4 valve Coyote (5.0/302) would reinforce his opinion that an H-pipe is the most correct choice.

I still think it applies to coyotes for the reasons I listed already. The better the whole exhaust system gets, the less relevant the X-pipe becomes unless you want that sound. Whereas the h-pipe truly balances out the pressures from bank to bank.

4-2-1 header
I think Ford hit the nail on the head with this header design on the factory 2015+ Mustangs. That reverts back to what I said earlier about exhaust scavenging. But yeah, I'll go down that rabbit hole and give it a read.

Was looking at those a while ago
I’ve never seen a thread on M6G where someone has used Thorley Tri-Y’s on a S550.
Summit Racing posted availability around 8/20/21

That's cause certain aftermarket outlet suppliers want to sell you the most expensive, corsa, kooks, etc., and they fall for it. My buddy put a set of corsa LT's, cat delete, x-pipe, corsa axle back on his 2015 S550 MT82, 3.31 gears. Same 28" rears as me. All he managed to do was slow it down for the most part. Especially the 60 foot, 330 foot, 660 ft, & 1000 ft times. He only picked up way way way upstairs. Sounds loud AF though. Anyways this is all moot, as the peeps will believe only what they wanna believe.

A properly made Tri-Y is one of the best designs, well compromise, for a street header. Low / Mid / High range horsepower a plenty, and will give up very little on the top end to a 4 into 1. Doug Thorley Tri-Y's are hard to beat.
