I currently have an X pipe on my exhaust set up and am thinking about switching to an H pipe if I like what I hear. I've never owned a car with an H pipe but I've heard good things. Anybody have any direct experience with switching from an X to an H? Video clips would be helpful too I suppose if there is a comparison somebody has. Thanks.

YouTube has a ton of comparisons.

I like this comparison:

The Coyote 5.0 sounds best with a h-pipe. It will be a deeper and better sounding rumble. A x-pipe will sound raspy and higher pitched. I have an x-pipe on my GT350 and I am advising you to roll with a h-pipe.

I have long tubes and a borla stinger cat back. I may try out the H pipe. I'm curious to how it sounds in person.

I switched From X to H but still keep my X around.

When I switched the sound difference wasnt as huge as some people made it seem.

Was there a difference in sound? Yes. Was it significant? Not really.

But X and H pipe are cheap and can be swapped in an out pretty quickly. So I keep both on hand if I want to change it up a little.

(Yes I said cheap. I'm not buying crazy expensive brand pipes that will outlast the car. As long as it resists rust and has good welds it's fine. It's stainless steel, not magic 😂)

Steeda’s Black Friday sales are usually really good on the resonator deletes. I bought my H pipe on one of their Black Friday sales. I may buy their X pipe just to have on hand.

I have an H pipe with the factory active exhaust. My dad has the X pipe with factory active exhaust. Both sound great IMO. H pipe does stay a little deeper in the mid RPM than the X pipe does.

If you already have the Borla S Type, search YouTube for Borla S type with H pipe. There’s a few that have done it, sounds good IMO. The S Type isn’t as raspy as the ATAK to start with but the X pipe lets the rasp through at higher RPM. The H keeps it muted somewhat. The coyote is naturally raspy so you’ll never totally get rid of it.

I bought pypes brand H pipe as there will be 0 difference in sound between them and the expensive ones. There isn't much support between the pipes as on the expensive ones though(easy fix). I have active exhaust and I drive it in sport mode mostly and constantly get compliments on the sound.

Steeda brand pipes are actually pretty good price for a name brand such as theirs.

Corsa on the other hand wants nearly $800 for their cut and clamp🤔😱

Yeah the Corsa pipes are stupid expensive. The Borla Crossfire X/H pipe is also a bit ridiculous at almost $600.
